Is Drunk Elephant Cruelty-Free?

Is Drunk Elephant cruelty-free? Find out now! Logical Harmony helps make cruelty-free easy!

Drunk Elephant is a popular and well-known skincare brand. You can find their products at Sephora, Cult Beauty, Space NK, MECCA, and MECCA Beauty. Drunk Elephant has somewhat of a cult following for their skincare range. Many swear by their products as a part of their daily skincare routine.

For a long time, Drunk Elephant was on the grey area list here on Logical Harmony and I was unable to get a clear animal testing statement from them. I’ve been in talks with them for a few weeks and wanted to share updates on their cruelty-free stance with you.

Keep reading to find out what’s currently going on with Drunk Elephant. Find out what their current stance on animal testing is. And see some exclusive details they shared only with Logical Harmony.

This is the most recent update of a post originally published on Logical Harmony on August 27, 2019.

Is Drunk Elephant cruelty-free? Yes! Drunk Elephant is cruelty-free!

Drunk Elephant is cruelty-free – there is no animal testing occurring anywhere on their products during production or on any ingredients used to make Drunk Elephant products.

Who owns Drunk Elephant?

While Drunk Elephant is cruelty-free, they are owned by Shiseido (as of October 2019) and Shiseido is not cruelty-free. I think everyone should decide for themselves how they feel about parent companies who test on animals. Supporting any cruelty-free brand is better than purchasing products from a brand that tests on animals.

Does Drunk Elephant have any vegan products? Yes. Drunk Elephant does have vegan products.

Not only is Drunk Elephant cruelty-free, but they do have vegan options. A full list of the Drunk Elephant vegan products can be found here on Logical Harmony.

Does Drunk Elephant use any ingredients that are tested on animals? No.

No. Drunk Elephant does not use ingredients that are tested on animals.

Does Drunk Elephant test on animals when required by law? No.

No. Drunk Elephant does not test on animals when required by law. Nor do they pay for any required by law testing to occur on their products.

Does Drunk Elephant sell products in China? They will, but not in a way that requires animal testing.

As of September 2019, Drunk Elephant is available in Hong Kong and via e-commerce in China. Animal testing is not required in Hong Kong. They will also be available via e-commerce in China, and not in physical stores. This is one of the few ways brands can sell in China and remain cruelty-free.

Where is Drunk Elephant sold?

Drunk Elephant is currently available on their own website, Cult Beauty, MECCA, MECCA Beauty, Sephora, and Space NK. If you’re shopping online, sign up for Rakuten and get cash back on your purchases.
