Beautisol Self-Tanning Mousse Review

[maxbutton id=”1″]Beautisol Self-Tanning Mousse Review

One of my favorite self-tanning products out there has just been released in a new larger size! I first discovered Beautisol several years ago when I was invited to a beauty event in San Francisco. Created by the Self-Tanning Queen herself, Sinead Norenius, who always has flawless bronzed skin, I was immediately intrigued by the brand. They are cruelty-free and all products are also vegan. iFabbo sent me a bottle of the new 8 ounce size Self-Tanning Mousse from Beautisol for review. The timing was perfect as it’s starting to get warmer outside.

Claims:A lightweight, quick drying self-tanning mousse for all skin colors and skin types which produces a natural looking tan.

Ingredients:  Water (Aqua) Dihydroxyacetone, Ethoxydiglycol, Caramel, Glycerin, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium PCA, Betaine, Sorbitol, Glycine, Alanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Arginine, Lysine, Glutamic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Fragrance (Parfum) Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Yellow 6 (CI 15985) Red 40 (CI 16035) Green 5 (CI 61570)

Pros: Cruelty free and vegan formula. Very easy to apply. The formula is tinted to provide instant color and to help you see where you may have missed. Comes with an application mitt to prevent your hands from absorbing too much product. Paraben-free. Moisturizing formula.

Cons: The formula may dry quickly for some – just remember to take your time with the application process.

The Verdict: Any long-time reader of Logical Harmony knows that I love this self-tanning mousse! It’s one of the best self-tanning products out there. It gives me a very natural color in minutes that deepens over time. The color is very natural and never orange. If you’re new to self-tanning, Beautisol also has several extremely helpful videos on their website to help explain the process and give application tips.

How To Make Your Own Bronzer

How To Make Your Own Bronzer

If you like to be bronzed, then check out this quick and easy way to make your own bronzer! Personally, I love being bronzed. Whether it’s by using self tanner, powder bronzer or both. A lot of celebrities, such as Ashley Olsen, love their bronzer too. There’s something so great about being able to breathe a little life into your winter makeup routine with bronzer. Thanks to PETA, I can now share with you how to make your own bronzer.

What you need :

  • Cocoa or cinnamon powder
  • Powdered sugar or baby powder
  • An old mineral makeup sifter jar or an old compact

Mix the ingredients together in small amounts until you have reached your desired shade. Mixing it yourself let’s you have it be as light or dark as you would like. To make it darker, add more cocoa or cinnamon powder. To make it lighter, add more sugar or baby powder. Once it’s your desired shade, pour it into your container and you’re good to go!

For the baby powder, good animal friendly option is Baby Bee Dusting Powder from Burt’s Bees. It’s both cruelty free and vegan. If you choose to use powdered sugar, try using Florida Crystals. They don’t use animal bones to filter the sugar like most common brands do. Or, better yet, make your own! You can make vegan powdered sugar by combining 2 cups of vegan granulated sugar with 2 tbsp cornstarch, then mix in a food processor.

Tips For A Flawless & Safe Sunless Tan

Tips For A Flawless & Safe Sunless Tan With summer on it’s way, now is the time to start working on getting a flawless and safe tan. With the wide range of natural looking self tanning lotions available, you have no excuse to be wasting your time (and health) in a tanning bed or out by the pool every day to get great results. When used properly, self tanning lotions can help you achieve a great natural looking tan without sacrificing your youthful looking skin or putting you at risk for skin cancers. Here are some of the most important Tips For A Flawless & Safe Sunless Tan :

1. Exfoliate : This helps to remove any dead skin cells on your body. If left behind, these dead skin cells will absorb extra color for your sunless tanning lotion, leaving you with streaks and blotchy areas. You can exfoliate your body in several ways. The easiest is by washing with a shower puff or a washcloth, gently rubbing in circular motions. You can also use an exfoliating scrub, you can buy them in the store or make your own out of oatmeal and olive oil. Make sure to get all areas of your skin where you are planning to apply sunless tanner. This includes ankles, knuckles, between your toes, etc.

2. Moisturize : Apply a liberal amount of lotion to your skin before you apply any self tanning lotion. Even if it’s a gradual tanner. Any dry areas on your skin will absorb this lotion and allow the tanning lotion to go on smoothly and evenly. Pay special attention to your knees, elbows, feet, and knuckles. This will greatly reduce your chance of streaks and blotchy areas since those areas will not absorb excess self tanning lotion. To help keep your sunless tan looking it’s best, frequently moisturize your skin after it has dried by applying moisturizer head-to-toe at least once a day.
