Ulta carries SO many cruelty-free brands. It’s amazing to see the selection both in stores and online. In fact, Ulta’s own house line is cruelty-free too! It’s amazing to see a brand actually take the steps to ensure their own brand is free of animal testing.

Cruelty-free beauty products are those that have not been tested on animals at any stage of production. This means that the product itself, as well as its individual ingredients and formulas, have not been tested on animals.

Does Ulta carry any vegan beauty products?

Yes! In fact, every cruelty-free brand sold at Ulta makes at least a couple of vegan products. You’ll find filters for “vegan” on product type and brand pages too.

Ulta does have a page dedicated to vegan beauty products. Unfortunately, it’s not fully accurate. Non-vegan products have been found there and some brands that test on animals appear there too. I suggest using the filters to find vegan beauty products at Ulta over their Vegan Beauty page.

  2. I heard Burt’s bees, first aid beauty perricone md are not cruelty free. Also note cosmetic is a Turkish brand and all Turkish brands are cruelty free

  3. Hi guys, wondering if you’d consider doing a CF brands list for online stores like Beauty Bay, Cult Beauty and Beautylish? Given that Ulta and Sephora US don’t ship internationally, and all the online vendors I mentioned do (and do free int’l shipping). Beauty Bay especially is a great resource for brands like Eye Of Horus, for folk in the US who don’t want to pay the big shipping from the Australian website. Just an idea. x

    I have been using Shea Moisture brand for a while now. They are claiming to be cruelty free, but I don’t see them on this list. They have amazing hair products!

  8. Just an idea……is there a way to organize a list wether the brand is cosmetics, hair, body, house cleaning supplies, etc. Or something like that. A good portion of the brands I have never heard of them. This would be really helpful for those that are new to going cruelty-free.

      I’ve talked to them about this and they have assured me that nothing has changed in their practices or requirements from suppliers. They do still require them to be cruelty-free and their ingredients are not tested on animals. I did give them feedback that their customer service response was confusing/misleading to people. I hope this helps!
