Taking care of your skin is one of the most important parts of your beauty routine. As the seasons change, the needs of your skin can change too. It’s important to listen to your skin and update your cruelty-free skin care routine as necessary. Recently winter has finally started to hit here in California but it hasn’t quite made up its mind to stick around. The temperatures have been fluctuating a lot, which isn’t doing my skin any favors. I have partnered with Osea Malibu, a cruelty-free and vegan skin care company that makes really lovely skin care, to share part of my winter cruelty-free skin care routine with you!
In this video, I walk through each step in my nightly cruelty-free skin care routine. Some steps, like the face mask, I don’t do every night but I think that they are a very important, and often overlooked, step in every skin care routine.
When it comes to skin cleansers, I have tried more than my fair share. While I love to try the latest products out there, I will always seek out a gentle and natural cleanser. I find that when my skin is freaking out due to stress, makeup, or changes in weather, very gentle and natural cleansers work really well to balance it out. This is why I was excited to try the Pure Chimp Super Cleanser. The formula of this cleanser is very unique, and the ingredients are a combination of effective but gentle items. The combination of sea buckthorn and vitamin E oil sounded luxurious, and the use of banana extract was definitely intriguing.
Claims: “Create an elegant cleansing milk in your palm and gently remove away dirt & impurities from your skin. A unique blend of natural goodness that doesn’t give your skin that annoying tight feeling after cleansing.”

When it comes to skin care, for a long time I have felt that the simpler the routine the better. I spent so many years growing up using chemical-laden products that only made the condition of my skin worse. As an adult, I try to use as many natural skin care products as I can. Recently, I was introduced to a unique skin care line called Ayushi.
Ayushi skin care believes in bringing the practices of Ayurveda into your skin care routine. This means that all of their products are organic, GMO-free, cruelty free, vegan and contain nutrient-dense ingredients influenced by the scriptures of Ayurveda. All of the ingredients used in their products are sourced from the tropical rain forests of Kerala, India. Ayushi products are much more than just skin care – they are part of a belief that all things are connected. As a brand, Ayushi is very committed to producing products that are free of harm to animals, support organic farmers and support a healthy ecosystem.
I received four products from Ayushi to try and review – Juniper Fresh Organic Face Wash, Rose Garden Organic Face Wash, Facial Glow Organic Lotion, and Lavender Hue Moisturizing Lotion. I could not wait to try each one and see how they worked on their own and as a combined skin care routine. Read more to hear my thoughts about each product and the line as a whole.

Exfoliating your skin helps to clear up and brighten your complexion. It can remove dry and dull skin, diffuse the look of fine lines, keep your pores clean to reduce breakouts, and help create an even skin tone. There are a lot of exfoliating products on the market, however a lot of them have harsh chemicals or can be irritating for sensitive skin.
Mary Futher created Kaia Naturals after working at several large beauty brands. The goal of Kaia Naturals is to fill the need for natural yet functional skincare products that everyone can use. All of their products include bamboo which is known to polish and cleanse your skin. I received the Bamboo Tapioca Beads Customized Cleansing Kit to try out. This kit comes with the Bamboo Tampioca Beads powdered facial cleanser, a small tube of moringa oil, and a bamboo mixing spoon.
Claims: “The first customizable cleansing kit allows you the versatility in customizing your cleanser (including the consistency) by adding droplets of different liquids. You can intensify or lessen the degree of exfoliation with each cleanse, making it perfect for ultra sensitive skin.”
