NYX Vegan Products List

NYX Vegan Products List

NYX is an affordable cruelty-free brand. There are also lots of NYX vegan products to pick from.

NYX is easily one of the most well-known affordable cruelty-free brands out there. A lot of people know that NYX is cruelty-free, but what about NYX vegan options? Are there many? Because I get so many questions about this popular drugstore brand and Ulta favorite, I wanted to create a list of NYX vegan products to help anyone who is interested. NYX is really easy for many people to get. Not only do they have their own stores, but they are found in most drugstores too.

In an effort to make shopping easier, I wanted to create this guide to help anyone with questions about the NYX vegan products!

Is NYX cruelty-free? Yes! NYX is cruelty-free!

NYX is cruelty-free. NYX meets all the criteria to be a Logical Harmony Approved cruelty-free brand. There is no animal testing occurring anywhere on their products. They are not selling in any markets that require animal testing, and they do not sell in retail stores in China.

NYX is owned by L’Oreal and L’Oreal is not cruelty-free. L’Oreal does test on animals. There are a lot of different opinions about supporting cruelty-free brands that are owned by a parent company that tests and I believe this is a choice individuals should make for themselves.

  • Are the ingredients used in NYX products tested on animals? No. NYX does not use ingredients that are tested on animals.

  • Do any third party groups test NYX products on animals? No. NYX products are not tested on animals by any third party groups.
  • Is NYX owned by a parent company that tests on animals? Yes. NYX is owned by a parent company that is not cruelty-free.

  • Where is NYX sold? On their own websiteUlta, Boots, Superdrug, Cult Beauty, Walgreens, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Walmart, CVS, Macys, Beauty Bay, and others.

Are any NYX products vegan? Yes!

Yes. NYX is not only cruelty-free but has lots of vegan options. Many of their store displays even have vegan products labeled. NYX does use some animal and animal-derived ingredients in some products such as carmine, beeswax, and others. Below are options listed that do not contain any animal or animal-derived ingredients.

This may change over time. I will keep this list as updated as possible but please always check the ingredient listings for the most up-to-date information.

NYX Vegan Products:

Because NYX has only recently announced that they have vegan products and some have been reformulated, please check ingredient lists on the packaging before buying in stores to ensure that the specific product(s) you are purchasing are vegan as some previously did contain animal or animal-derived ingredients.

In order to make the NYX vegan products list easier to navigate, it is split up into sections based on the product type.

NYX Vegan Face Makeup:

NYX Vegan Eye Makeup & Brow Products:

NYX Vegan Lip Products:

NYX Vegan Makeup Brushes:

Currently, all NYX brushes are made from synthetic fibers and are vegan-friendly.

NYX Vegan Skincare:

  1. Hi, thanks for this very helpful list! I’ve been wondering about the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer, as the foundation is on the list (as well as several other concealers). Do they contain animal products?

  2. Do you happen to know if the Stripped Off Micellar Water is vegan? I’ve been interested in trying it due to the low price and the high remarks, but can’t find anything saying it’s vegan. (None of the ingredients are glaringly animal-derived, hence my confusion.)

    1. Hi Tashina!
I recently purchased the NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation and I’m really enjoying it. However, there is no indication on the packaging/component that it is Cruelty-Free and/or Vegan. Yet I do see that it is “Made in China”. I am aware that China’s cosmetic testing on animals has changed over time but the guidelines are sketchy in my opinion. I rescued my dog from China & flew her to the US. She was used to not only test product on but was experimented on as well, including breaking her spinal cord on purpose, leaving her disabled, and then she was sold to a slaughter house for dog meat until angels rescued her at the last minute. Only telling you this to express my personal concerns.. I am close with her rescuers. They say that China tends to well, not tell the full truth about what’s really going on with animal testing in 2020. How were you able to confirm that this foundation is Cruelty-Free and/or Vegan? Please know I am not challenging you in any way! I purchased the foundation after checking your list and I sincerely appreciate everything you do! I’m just feeling nervous about using it. <3

  3. Nyx is not cruelty free. Their products used to be. Now their stuff is all made in China. I tried to buy an eyeliner today by them and not one single eyeliner had a cruelty free label. All the ones I saw were all made in China where it’s required by law to animal test.

      1. I’m curious if any one can answer…if products are made in China but not sold there so they can still be cruelty-free, why isn’t the cruelty-free logo on the product?

        1. So did you investigate all of the products yourself or did NYX give you the list? Because I searched “vegan products” on their website (it popped up as a search option when I typed in vegan) and the same eyebrow cake powder popped up :/

    1. All of their products contain ingredients that could be derived from animals. My guess is that in the case of those products, they either are derived from animals or it’s not confirmed that they are synthetic/plant-based.

    2. Hey Victoria, I’m wondering this too. I’ve looked at the ingredients and I can’t see anything animal delivered? But then I’m not really familar with the names of animal delivered ingredients… With the soft matte lip creams it clearly says that it contains beeswax but I have no idea about these 2!
