Does Esteé Lauder own The Ordinary?

There are a lot of rumors that The Ordinary is owned by Esteé Lauder. Esteé Lauder is not a cruelty-free brand, so this is a concern for many in the cruelty-free beauty space. The Ordinary is owned by Esteé Lauder.

In June of 2017, Esteé Lauder became an investor in The Ordinary and had 28% ownership. The goal of the investment was to help advise The Ordinary during a time of conflict with their now former CEO. As of June 2021, Esteé Lauder increased this to 76% ownership of DECIEM.

Does The Ordinary have any vegan products? Yes. The Ordinary does have vegan products.

Not only is The Ordinary cruelty-free, but they also have lots of vegan options too.

Some of the best-selling products from The Ordinary that are also vegan-friendly are:

Where is The Ordinary sold?

The Ordinary is currently available on their own website, Sephora, Beautylish, Cult Beauty, ASOS, and Ulta. What I have found is that different online retailers carry a different selection of The Ordinary products. My suggestion is to shop around and see what stores carry before placing an order as you may be able to find a discount code for one and not another.

  1. Hi, isn’t The Ordinary partly owned by Estee Lauder? I’ve found that information online but it seems to be missing from some sites that specialise in sharing information about cruelty free and vegan skincare such as yours. I do appreciate your site though. Thank you.
