Is BECCA cruelty-free? Yes!

Yes. BECCA is a cruelty-free brand. None of their products are tested on animals, at any point, by any parties. They also do not sell in any markets where animal testing is required by law.

While BECCA is cruelty-free, Too Faced is owned by Estée Lauder. Estée Lauder is not cruelty-free. I think everyone should decide for themselves how they feel about parent companies who test on animals. Supporting any cruelty-free brand is better than purchasing products from a brand that tests on animals.

Are any BECCA products vegan? Yes!

Yes. BECCA is not only cruelty-free but they also have some vegan options too. BECCA does use some animal and animal-derived ingredients in some products such as carmine, beeswax, and others. Below are options listed that do not contain any animal or animal-derived ingredients.

Because ingredients can change, please check ingredient lists on the packaging before buying in stores to ensure that the specific product(s) you are purchasing are vegan and do not contain animal or animal-derived ingredients.

  1. Hi Tashina, i am a German girl and i want to buy tue shimmering pressen highlighter in pearl and moonstone, in the store where i look the incredients say, there is carmine (i lookedin the online Shop from Douglas) and in the packaging it says there is carmine too?

    1. I know that previously carmine was listed as a +/- (may or may not contain) ingredient because they use the same packaging and ingredient list for all shades, even though some do not contain those ingredients. It no longer appears there though here in the US packaging or on the BECCA website. Since I can’t see the packaging where you are, I’m not able to speak to that. But I took a look at the Douglas site and carmine is listed, but under +/-.

  2. The backlight targeted colour corrector in peach contains carmine. I purchased from their site after seeing it on this list. Now it’s arrived and the box says it contains Carmine.

    Very disappointed

    1. Hi Cindy,

I wanted to see if the ingredients have changed but they don’t appear to be different. Carmine is not listed on the ingredient list I see online and on packages I’ve seen recently in stores.

  3. Hey tashina ! Do you have any update about the undereye brightning corrector, is it still being made on shared equipment with other products that do contain carmine.
    Thanks for your efforts !

  4. Hi,
I recently bought Becca Velvet blurring primer from Saphora and was told that it is vegan friendly product but when I get home and googeld it was not a vegan friendly product. Can you help me out regarding the ingredients list that makes this product non vegan?
    Thanks.

  5. Hey Tashina! Could we get an updated list for this if at all possible? I know it’s hard to get answers out of brands I’ve emailed Becca before and they never gave me an answer so let us know! Thanks 🙂

  6. Amazing! I can’t even tell you how much of an amazing resource Logical Harmony is to me. So glad the Undereye Brightening Corrector is, in fact, vegan 🙂 off to Sephora I go!

  7. Hi Tashina,
Becca released new violet shade primer called “first light filter face primer”.
I really want to try it, but, is it vegan or not? Please help. I’m wondering because the backlight priming filter is vegan. I hope the first light will be vegan too

  8. Hi Tashina,

Thankyou for sharing this comprehensive list of Becca products. I’m a vegetarian and hence can use products with milk, yogurt, cheese and any animal -derived ingredient in which the animal wasn’t killed or harmed. I.e. (beeswax, lanolin). I use the becca skin shimmering perfector liquid in moonstone and i want to know if its suitable for me (vegetarians).
    Kind regards

  9. Hi Tashina, I’m wondering if you know if the becca ultimate coverage concealers crème is vegan. I can’t find a definitive answer on whether or not the squalane in it is from an animal or plant source. Thanks in advance for your help!

  10. When you click on the link to any of the shimmering skin perfectors and then refresh the page they all say they have Carmine in them. 🙁 They must have changed the ingredients recently.

    1. The ingredients haven’t changed! Carmine is listed under “May contain (+/-), which means that the shades may have this ingredient but not all do. This is so BECCA can use the same ingredient list for all of the shades. The shades listed here don’t contain carmine though. 🙂
