NCLA My Dad Invented That Review

The shade My Dad Invented that from NCLA can best be described as a galaxy in a bottle. I’m typically not a huge fan of glitter based nail polishes. Yet this one was so pretty! Any long-time reader knows that I’m a huge fan of NCLA polishes. NCLA was kind enough to send me their North of Sunset collection to review, so expect more reviews coming soon!

Claims: “Our luxurious NCLA formula is high shine, quick dry and chip resistant. Flat brush allows for a perfectly smooth application.”

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Nitrocellulose, Triphenyl Phosphate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Diacetone Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Benzophenone-1, SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.), Acrylates Copolymer, Silica, May Contain (+/-):, Bismuth Oxychloride, Oxides, Blue 1, Aluminum Powder, Red 34, Red 6, Red 7, Yellow 5 Lake, Iron Oxides, Violet 2, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Isobutylphenoxy Epoxy Resin

Pros: DBP free. Toluene free. Camphor free. Formaldehyde free. Wears well. Cruelty free and vegan. One coat provides full color coverage – no second coat needed.

Cons: None.

The Verdict: I loved this polish! The dark grey base of My Dad Invented that is pretty and edgy. The glitter in the polish comes in multiple shades and sizes. This gives it a really pretty galaxy effect – even after just one coat. Glitter polishes often have a reputation for wearing better that regular shades and this is no exception to that rule. Just one coat wore several days, without a top coat, before it began to chip.
