My Thoughts on Kavella Hair Products – a Cruelty-Free Salon Line

My Thoughts on Kavella Hair Products - a Cruelty-Free Salon Line

Curious about Kavella? I tried some of their products and wanted to share my thoughts with you!

I get a lot of questions about the products I use for my hair, so I wanted to share what I’ve been using lately and some thoughts on the products. I did a sponsored IG post about Kavella and wanted to expand on things here. Kavella sent me a handful of products to test out and I’ve been using them for the past few weeks.

In this post, I share what I’ve been using and my thoughts on the products. It’s been fun trying out a new brand! Kavella is currently only sold on their own website and in salons, so I had really high hopes for the line.

First, let’s talk about my hair.

My hair is long, and it’s also really fine. I don’t have thin hair, but fine hair that easily gets lifeless. I want to treat it well but often find that a lot of nourishing products are too heavy for it. Volume and texture are the main things I want for my hair that I don’t naturally have as easily.

I also try to take really good care of it due to the length. Adding in hair masks has helped a lot to keep my hair in good condition, but I want to find something that’s part of an everyday routine. Living in such a dry environment as the high desert has definitely taken a toll on my hair. I try to avoid heat styling as much as possible to help counteract any environmental damage, but it’s challenging.

What vegan products have I been trying from Kavella?

I’ve been trying out the Kavella Volumizing Shampoo and Volumizing Conditioner. I have also been using the Balanced Conditioner once a week as a “deep” conditioner replacement. They feel so nice on my hair and rinse out completely. A lot of heavier conditioners feel like they leave a residue, so I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Normally when I air dry, my hair is pretty straight and pretty flat. I’m also prone to tangles. Since using these products, my hair has had a lot more volume with just air drying. It’s also been tangle-free on its own too, which is so nice.

I add in the Leave-In Recovery Lotion to my ends when my hair is still damp and have noticed such a big difference in them already. They look and feel smoother, and my hair tangles less overall.

Now let’s talk cruelty-free styling products.

To protect my hair when heat styling, I’ve been using the Multi-Use Primer before blow-drying to help protect my hair. It’s lightweight and doesn’t weigh my hair down. I’ve noticed that it speeds up my drying time, which is amazing. It also leaves my hair so shiny.

For adding volume and texture, I’ve been loving the Salty Sugar Texture Spray and the Teasing Powder. Salt Sprays are some of my favorite hair products because they work so well on my hair and this one is amazing. I love the scent and it is such an easy way to add some texture.

I apply the Sugar Texture Spray directly to my roots, then scrunch it around to add lasting volume. Combined with the Teasing Powder, I get so much volume and texture that I can refresh by scrunching as needed. I also like to add extra teasing powder to the middle of my hair to add more texture there too. When I use this texture spray, I skip dry shampoo and feel like it does help to absorb any dirt and oil in my hair.

Have you tried anything from Kavella yet? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them if you have. If not, do you think you might give them a try?
