Lush Self Preserving Dream Cream Review
Lush recently relaunched three classic products as a part of their new Self Preserving line. It took them 97 tries to get the new Lush Self Preserving Dream Cream ready for sale. Much of the water had to be removed and, in it’s place, Lush added natural preservatives that do an effective job of moisturizing your skin.
Claims: “Dream Cream contains every ingredient nature makes for soothing sore skin! One of our proudest achievements, we love this lotion because it makes people happy. The calming blend of oat milk, lavender and chamomile goes to work soothing sensitive skin. Olive oil and cocoa butter are incredibly effective for dry or chapped skin, and are especially gentle for even the most sensitive skin.. Plus, this formula has been expertly rebalanced, so there’s no need for us to add any synthetic preservatives– it’s completely self-preserving!”
Ingredients: Oat Milk (Avena sativa), Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Rose Water (Rosa centifolia), Glycerine, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao), Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Organic Rose Absolute (Rosa Damascena), Chamomile Blue Oil (Matricaria Chamomilla), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Lavender Oil (Lavandula augustifolia), Cetearyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Tincture of Benzoin (Styrax benzoin), Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool
Pros: Cruelty free and vegan formula. Reusable and recyclable packaging. Very hydrating. Very thick and creamy formula. Subtle and natural scent. Works great on hands and body.
Cons: Absolutely none. The new Self Preserving Dream Cream is amazing!
The Verdict: I honestly fell head-over-heels for the new Self Preserving Dream Cream while using it! It’s one of the best moisturizers that I have ever used. The scent is very subtle lavender and cocoa butter combination and will easily blend in with any fragrance you are wearing. If you don’t wear fragrance, it’s subtle enough that it will not even be noticeable. I love that it’s been reformulated to be self preserving and not need any preservatives added to it. The formula is very concentrated and very effective. About a tablespoon of Dream Cream is all I need to moisturize my entire body. It’s so moisturizing that you won’t need to apply another moisturizer for the rest of the day. This is one of those moisturizers where once you use it, you will have a hard time going back to other moisturizers.
Not only would I suggest this product to others, but I already plan to purchase it once I run out of this tub. It’s amazing stuff!

The chemicals used in these products are already listed as known carcinogens, triethnalolmine, and endocrine disruptors, parabens. why are they still in the products?
That’s a great question for Lush! 🙂
I love Dream Cream, especially in the winter months!
So LUCKY!! The Lush here hasn’t changed the formula for their Dream Cream yet. I would love to try this new formula!
If they don’t have it in your local store, you could order it online!
No, I’m in Australia, and they make it differently here. I checked online :/
That is disappointing to hear. 🙁 I would email them and request that they start carrying it.
I just brought a tub of this to work to leave on my desk! Love it!
This product seems better than most Lush products. I just have such a problem with them altogether since they preach about bring natural, and yet they use crap ingredients. Red 40 and Red 27 certainly aren’t natural that I’m aware of!
lush had never claimed to be 100 percent natural. Take a look at the we believe statement that is usually posted in most shops. It clearly says that lush uses safe synthetics.
