How To Make Your Own Bath Salts

So far, Logical Harmony has taught you how to make your own bath fizzies and how to make your own baking soda bath salts. Now you’ll learn how to make your own salt-based bath salts! The main salt in these bath salts is epsom salts. They have long been used to help with aches and pains. Plus, the magnesium they contain has been known to release seratonin and help you relax. These bath salts store easily and will keep for a while. It’s great to make a big batch and store them in an airtight container or plastic bags for later use. That way when you’ve had a long day, you can just toss some in the tub and relax.

What you will need to make your own vegan bath salts :

  • 3/4 cup Epsom salts
  • 1/2 cup sea salt
  • 1/4 cup cruelty-free baking soda (Please remember that if you want to make this a truly animal friendly item, use baking soda from Ener-G. They are currently the only vegan baking soda brand that I can find. Arm & Hammer tests on animals and Bob’s Red Mill funds animal testing in medical facilities. If you know of another vegan source for baking soda, please let me know!!)
  • 3-4 drops essential oil

How to make your own vegan bath salts :

  1. Combine the epsom salt, sea salt and baking soda. Mix well.
  2. Add the essential oil of your choice. Start by adding just 2 or 3 drops, then mix everything together and see what you think about the scent. It’s a lot easier to add essential oil than to deal with bath salts that are too strong.
  3. Store in an airtight container. Glass jars work great to store these vegan bath salts!

See? Super easy! These vegan bath salts are great to have on hand for your long days. Or, you can print out cute labels and give them away as gifts.
