Eye of Horus is well-known for their cruelty-free and vegan eye shadows and brow products, but the product that they are most well-known for is their mascara. Their original formula contains beeswax, but they are launching the Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara, which is completely vegan, on November 1st! They sent me this mascara to try out a few weeks ago, and I have been putting it to the test so that I could share my thoughts with you before it launches. I also partnered with Eye of Horus to create a video showing you the tips and tricks I use to apply this mascara.
Claims: “Amplify your eyes organically with dramatic super lengthened lashes. Bio Lash Lift Mascara is the ultimate natural lash lifting mascara. Designed to add length, volume, and nourishment to lashes naturally promoting growth. Unique double-sided comb brush and ergonomic cap loads product and combs through wish ease for ultimate lash lifting volume and length.”
Ingredients: Aqua, Copernicia cerifera cera, stearic acid, Ricinus Communis seed oil, palmitic acid, propanediol, glyceryl stearate SE, palmitic/stearic triglyceride, benzyl alcohol, xantham gum, kaolin, sodium hydroxide, potassium sorbate, galactoarobinan, butylene glycol, laminaria digitata extract, tocopherol, myristic acid, dehydroacetic acid, lauric acid, oleic acid, Helianthus Annuus seed oil. Pros: Curved wand makes it easy to get close to the lash line and reach shorter lashes. Buildable formula for adding both length and volume. Combed want grabs each lash and applies product evenly, without clumps. Helps curl lashes with the wand and hold the curl in place.
Cons: This isn’t necessarily a con, but the wand can take a little getting used to if you aren’t used to this kind of curved wand shape. After a couple of applications, it’s super easy to use.
Is Eye of Horus cruelty-free? Yes. Eye of Horus is cruelty-free with vegan options.
Is the Eye of Horus BioLash Lift Mascara vegan? Yes.
The Verdict: The new Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara is a one-of-a-kind mascara and unlike any other that I have ever tried. You can tell that they put a lot of time and effort into making sure that their first vegan mascara would be amazing and live up to Eye of Horus’ reputation.
Some of the ingredients it contains (such as laminaria digitata extract, galactoarabinan, and castor seed oil) are said to help with lash growth and the condition of your lashes. Studies have linked some of these ingredients to hair growth and a reduction in hair loss. I did notice that my lashes felt softer, more flexible, and stronger after using this mascara for a couple of weeks. The color is a very rich and very dark black, so it really makes your lashes stand out. I found that I could apply the mascara very close to my lashline and get a liner-like look when using it.
Thanks to the shape of the wand, it does so much to add length and volume that you can completely customize. If you want loads of length and not as much volume, you can do that. If you want loads of volume and less length, you can do that too. The brush comb wand really works to grab each individual lash and evenly coat them with the mascara. I’ve been using the Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara daily for a couple of weeks now and haven’t had a single clump.
The wand is curved, and I noticed that I didn’t need to curl my lashes while using this mascara. The wand did the job for me! I even have a few pesky stick straight lashes that never stayed curled and they did with this mascara. If you still want to curl your lashes, this mascara really helps hold the curl in place all day.
The Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara doesn’t flake or transfer on me. The formula dries quickly, so you don’t need to worry about your fresh mascara touching the areas around your eyes and leaving little dots behind. It stays put all day without issue. When it comes time to removing the mascara, I was able to use a gentle remover or Vitamin E oil and it removed the mascara easily.
Overall, I think that this is a really great mascara. The formula of the mascara and the wand are perfect together. I think that this is a mascara everyone will love!
I have tried applying the mascara in a few different ways and wanted to share my tips and tricks for using the Eye of Horus Bio Lash Lift Mascara in the tutorial below.

I’m so excited about this! I’ve been a fan of Better Than Sex formula but dread the applicator and tube. This may be exactly what I’ve been dreaming of.
I hope they get the business they deserve to bring in a vegan cosmetic or cruelty free, but I am soo turned off by that price. almost $40.00 for this mascara. I toss it out after 3-4 months…so no way.
