Blissoma Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser and Makeup Remover Review

Blissoma Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser and Makeup Remover Review

I received the Blissoma Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser and Makeup Remover in my September Petit Vour box. I have used other Blissoma cleansers in the past and was curious to discover how this one was different. I have found Blissoma products to be very gentle and effective. After using this cleanser for a couple of weeks, I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Claims: “Free is a duo-purpose, restorative gel cleanser for when you need to remove difficult makeup and all the day’s dirt in one easy, healing wash. Free is the ideal match for the most reactive and allergic skin types due to it’s super pure, simple, and elegant botanical construction. Its ingredients may be easy to understand, but don’t underestimate the uniqueness of how they work together. Together in this beautifully balanced gel herbs, soapbark, and gentle organic oils come together to rinse skin clean and balance it all at once.”

Ingredients: Glycerin, Infusion of Ilex paraguariensis* (yerba mate), Medicago sativa* (alfalfa), Prunella vulgaris* (self heal), Plantago major* (plantain), Rubus idaeus* (raspberry leaf), Centaurea cyanus* (cornflowers), Olea europaea* (olive leaf), and Tilia europaea* (linden), Caprylyl capryl glucoside (Ecocert vegetable source cleanser), Vitis Vinifera (grapeseed) Oil*, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) Oil*, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Quillaja saponaria* (soapbark), Cetearyl Alcohol and Cetearyl Wheatstraw Glycosides, Gluconolactone, Xanthan Gum *from Certified Organic Agriculture

Pros: Very gentle cleanser. Removed most face makeup. Did not irritate skin. Gentle enough to use around eyes. Left my skin feeling balanced. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: Not great at removing eye makeup. May not be effective at removing long-wearing makeup.

The Verdict: There are some great things about the Blissoma Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser and Makeup Remover. It’s so gentle at cleansing. My skin did not feel dry or at all irritated after use. In fact, it felt soft and hydrated. This was a really soothing morning cleanser and I felt that it helped prep my skin for moisturizer. At night time, it removed most of my face makeup easily and without issue. I did notice that it’s effectiveness at removing makeup really did depend on what products I was using that day. I love that it’s gentle enough to use around my eyes, but it was difficult to remove my eye makeup with this cleanser. That said, I don’t think that this was a fault of the cleanser so much as the fact that I don’t wear much natural makeup.

If you have a very simple and natural beauty routine, I think that this cleanser would do a fabulous job of removing your makeup. My skin felt so soft after each use. It didn’t irritate my skin at all, and I do feel that this is a really great cleanser for any skin type. I am really pleased with it and think that it’s a great addition to the skin care routine of anyone looking for a natural and effective cleanser.
