Too Faced Primed & Poreless Priming Powder Review
I was first introduced to Too Faced Primed & Poreless Priming Powder as a deluxe sample from Too Faced. Too Faced is one of my favorite cruelty free brands, and they have lots of vegan options, but I had never tried any of their complexion powders before. I was a bit skeptical because the claims about the product were so good.
Claims: “Primed & Poreless Powder turns any foundation into high definition makeup. Our high-resolution, reflective, powder technology transforms skin by visually minimizing pores, fine lines and imperfections for an airbrushed looking finish. Our weightless powder can be worn alone, or under and over foundation to prep skin, lockdown makeup and control shine for a complexion smoothing, flawless finish.”

More details from Too Faced:
- Conveniently adapts to multiple skin tones.
- Can be worn on bare skin for a light and smooth, perfect finish.
- Wear under foundation to prime and set makeup, or over as a foundation powder to refine skin’s texture.
Ingredients: Silica, Populus Tremuloides Bark Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Water/Aqua/Eau, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163).
Pros: Transparent formula. Very finely milled powder. Controls shine. Closeable container. Paraben-free. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.
Cons: May be a bit messy for some to use. Not a great primer for liquid foundation.
The Verdict: The Too Faced Primed & Poreless Priming Powder is currently one of my must-have beauty items. It works okay as a makeup primer when using mineral foundation, but it did not work as a primer for me with liquid foundation. But I did find that it works amazingly to set my makeup. I find that it really does live up to all of the product claims, which amazed me about this powder. Even when worn alone, my skin looks smoother. I really cannot recommend this powder enough!
Available from Too Faced, Amazon, Ulta, and Sephora.

The packaging is so cute! I’m currently using the Laura Mercier setting powder, but I’ll have to try this one once that one is gone!
I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried the goss method of using setting powder before primer, but I sort of wonder if that would work for you? It sounds like this is nice if you just want to dust it all over like a mineral veil.
This looks more like a setting powder to me. I doubt I’d use a powder primer but I would use it after foundation.
I LOVE Too Faced, but I can’t handle loose powders anymore. They make my bathroom look worse than it already is! Hahaha
I would have thought it’s actually a setting powder if I didn’t read the label. A powdery primer! Very intriguing 🙂
I was skeptical about blurring products, too, until I found one that works for me. I’ve not tried this one, though I love Too Faced, too. The one from It Cosmetics in the pressed version is the blurring powder I’m using to set my makeup with now.
I would probably use this to set makeup as you suggest.
Yes! This is my absolute favorite! I got the deluxe sample with an order many months ago and I’ve still barely made a dent. I love to apply it with a lightly dampened beauty blender!
This sounds like a really lovely primer provided that you aren’t using a liquid foundation.
I never realized this product was a powder. Since I don’t have a problem with visible pores, I never considered it. But because I seldom wear mineral foundation these days, I guess it’s not for me. Glad it’s even exceeded your expectations!
