This week I’ve received a few reader emails inquiring about the status of NYX Cosmetics. Apparently there are some rumors that NYX also changed it’s stance on animal testing like many other brands have this year (MAC, Smashbox, Urban Decay…) going around on Facebook and Twitter. While NYX has previously stated and proved that they are cruelty free, they’ve never been too great on being able to identify what their vegan options are.
I got in touch with NYX Cosmetics today and received an assuring response from them. NYX Cosmetics is still cruelty free! They don’t use ingredients that have been tested on animals at any point by any party, nor are their cosmetics tested on animals at any point by any party.
They still didn’t have the greatest response when I asked about vegan options, but they did suggest that, “Individuals would need to read the ingredients and decide for themselves.” The main animal ingredients in NYX Cosmetics that I’m aware of are beeswax and carmine, but they weren’t able to give me a list of all the animal ingredients that they use. Nor were they able to tell me which products contain animal ingredients.
Either way, those who are concerned about buying cruelty free will be happy to hear the confirmation from NYX Cosmetics!
