One of my favorite cruelty free and vegan nail polish lines is NCLA. They are constantly coming out with amazing new collections. Recently, they released the Candy Coat collection. These textured polishes dry matte for a unique finish. When I received the collection for review, I had to try them immediately.
Claims: “You deserve to feel like you’re wearing pure gold dust with this textured matte glitter.”
Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Nitrocellulose, Triphenyl Phosphate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Diacetone Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Benzophenone-1, SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.), Acrylates Copolymer, Silica, May Contain (+/-):, Bismuth Oxychloride, Oxides, Blue 1, Aluminum Powder, Red 34, Red 6, Red 7, Yellow 5 Lake, Iron Oxides, Violet 2, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Isobutylphenoxy Epoxy Resin
Pros: DBP free. Toluene free. Camphor free. Formaldehyde free. Cruelty free and vegan. Wears well without a topcoat. You can make it shiny with a top coat if you don’t want to wear it matte. Matte finish with subtle sparkle.
Cons: You may need three coats of Butter Me Up for the same shade as seen in the bottle.
The Verdict: I really liked Butter Me Up! It was such a fun take on a gold manicure. I liked that it was matte but still had a subtle sparkle to it. I’m a fan of manicures using traditional gold glitter shades as an accent color and can’t wait to try that with this matte version. I used three coats for the photos in this post.
