Ella + Mila Nail Polish Review

Ella + Mila Nail Polish Review

When I first heard about Ella + Mila nail polish, I was intrigued by their adorable packaging and color selection. Hearing more about Ella + Mila had me even more interested. Ella + Mila is not only cruelty free and vegan, but was created because the founders wanted to create a high-end nail polish line that was also eco-friendly. They release new collections of shades often.

I received a few bottles of Ella + Mila nail polish to try out and wanted to share my thoughts here. In this post, I will be sharing my overall thoughts on each shade that I used.

Claims: “With a passion for color and dedication to healthy beauty, the founders strive to provide fashion-forward lacquer without compromise. Often likened to the staying power of gel, the much-appraised Ella+Mila formula is a luxury innovation that lasts long without harmful chemicals. In addition to being chip-resistant, quick dry and high shine, Ella+Mila nail colors contain no Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor, making it a five chemical-free product.”

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Drippin' Gold

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Drippin’ Gold

Drippin’ Gold is such a gorgeous glitter! I am not usually a fan of glitter polishes, but this one is so pretty. This shade is a mix of small and large glitter. The small glitter is rose gold while the large glitter is yellow gold. Together it creates such a pretty combination! A single coat adds a touch of sparkle that can be easily built up with multiple coats of polish.

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Bad Obsession

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Bad Obsession

Bad Obsession is a classic shade of red nail polish. I love that this shade is more blue-based than orange-based. I think this makes it super flattering on any skin tone. This shade was highly pigmented and just two coats provided rich color.

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Don't Be Blue

Don’t Be Blue is an adorable mint green. If you are a sucker for pastel shades like I am, you will love this shade! It was surprisingly pigmented for being a pastel color. Two coats gave me the a good amount of color.

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Barely Pink

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Barely Pink

Barely Pink is a great option for those who love light pink and peachy nudes. It reminds me a lot of some of the often suggested work appropriate options that are constantly suggested, but this shade is from a cruelty free brand! This is sheer shade, so applying more coats was necessary.

Ingredients: Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Styrene/Acrylates, Copolymer, Benzophenone-1, CI 77891, CI 19140, CI 15850, CI 15880, CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 77510, CI 77163, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Aluminum Powder, Mica

Pros: Fast drying. Chip-resistant. Great color pigment. Made withoutToluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde), Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: None.

The Verdict: I have tried a lot of nail polish brands that have claims of being chip-resistant but then chip within the first day. With Ella + Mila nail polish, I can say that their claims hold true. I wore each shade for at least 4 days before I had to deal with any chips or nicks. Each shade applied very smoothly and dried quickly. I was really impressed with how pigmented the shades were and how well they wore. If you have yet to try Ella + Mila nail polish, I suggest picking up a bottle. It’s definitely a brand to keep an eye on!

I threw this product out I am afraid. It clumped around the cuticle and was streaky and splotchy even with two coats.

These are amazing Tashina! I will be buying some these, the shades are gorgeous. I’m so excited about nail polish lately because I can finally do my own nails after 11 years of not being able to. Long story short, my spinal cord was pierced during a cervical epidural in 2003 which paralyzed my right hand, arm, breast and back. The doctors gave me 19 months for recovery but there was no recovery or movement. So I learned to write with my left hand and do other tasks left handed. In December there was movement in my right thumb and I was able to paint my nails using my right thumb. It has gotten stronger since December and now my middle finger is showing some movement, after 11 years! I saw my pain specialist yesterday, he was speechless for a minute when I told him my news lol. Anyway I’ve been buying nail polish like crazy, these polishes will be a great! Thank you for the great review and Happy Friday Tashina, hugs.
