Charlotte Tilbury Vegan Product List

Charlotte Tilbury Vegan Product List

Looking for a list of Charlotte Tilbury vegan product? This guide has you covered! Logical Harmony helps make cruelty-free easy!

Charlotte Tilbury is known for its high-end, luxurious, and high-quality products. They can be found in Sephora, Nordstrom, Beautylish, and lots of other beauty department stores. Charlotte Tilbury is not well known in the cruelty-free beauty community. A lot of people are surprised when they found out that not only is Charlotte Tilbury cruelty-free but that there are a lot of Charlotte Tilbury vegan products as well.

Many readers of Logical Harmony have requested a list of the Charlotte Tilbury vegan options. I talked to Charlotte Tilbury Beauty about the ingredients they use and worked with them to create this list of the Charlotte Tilbury vegan products. When this post was first published back in 2015, they didn’t label the vegan options. Since that time, the brand has realized how important it is to their customer base and product pages now note if a product is vegan-friendly or not. It’s amazing to see those changes implemented to make vegan beauty easier for everyone!

This is the most recent update of a post I originally published on September 15, 2015. It was last updated on March 12, 2020.

Is Charlotte Tilbury cruelty-free? Yes! Charlotte Tilbury is cruelty-free.

Charlotte Tilbury is a cruelty-free brand based on the Logical Harmony criteria for determining if a brand is Logical Harmony approved. There is no animal testing being done on Charlotte Tilbury products at any point or on any ingredients used to make Charlotte Tilbury products.

In 2020 there have been some rumors about Charlotte Tilbury selling in mainland China and no longer being cruelty-free due to the required by law animal testing policies there. There is an in-depth post that you can find here. To summarize, Charlotte Tilbury products are available via direct to consumer e-commerce only. This method of sales does not require animal testing.

Are there any Charlotte Tilbury vegan products? Yes!

Not only is Charlotte Tilbury cruelty-free, but there are lots of vegan products available too.

Where can you find Charlotte Tilbury vegan products?

Charlotte Tilbury can be found on their own website, Sephora, Nordstrom, Beautylish, Cult Beauty, Net-a-Porter, and more.

Charlotte Tilbury Vegan Skincare:

For some products where not all shades are vegan, such as the lipsticks, a shared ingredient list is used on the product packaging and online description. Carmine or other ingredients may appear listed after “+/-” or “may contain”. This means that some shades contain those ingredients, but not all shades in the line do. The shades listed above are all vegan and free of any animal ingredients.

Charlotte Tilbury is a wonderful cruelty-free brand and I love that they have so many vegan options available! My personal favorite Charlotte Tilbury vegan products are the Film Star Bronze & Glow in Light to Medium and the Hot Lips Matte Lipstick in Kim KW.

Thanks so much for this fantastic list, Tashina, and for all the work you put into this website! I absolutely adore Charlotte Tilbury’s products, and I love that they help show consumers that cosmetics can be cruelty free, vegan, high performing, and luxurious! Many of my favorites are on the vegan list you posted for us. I very much appreciate that your info is always up to date, and you report about a wide variety of products, from drugstore to high end. The new website looks great, too! 🙂

Hi, I’ve noticed that some of the lip stick ingredients, for example: sexy sienna, contain Carmine.
I’m not sure that Carmine is vegan.

    • Reply Tashina Combs Friday - July 13, 2018 at 12:11 pm

Thankfully they don’t actually contain carmine. It is listed under “May Contain” because some shades of the lipsticks do contain carmine and they use the same ingredient list for all shades.

  • Reply Elisa Thursday - December 14, 2017 at 9:38 am

    Is the Legendary Lashes vegan?

    • Reply Tashina Combs Friday - July 13, 2018 at 12:07 pm

Legendary Lashes is not, but Legendary Lashes Volume 2 is.

  • Reply Shody Saturday - October 7, 2017 at 4:50 am

I just looked at the CT website and the Dolce Vita palette contains Carmine. So sad!

    • Reply Tashina Combs Friday - July 13, 2018 at 12:09 pm

Thankfully it doesn’t actually contain carmine. It is listed under “May Contain” because their products are made on shared equipment.

Turns out the lady in customer services had made a mistake and the magic foundation is in fact vegan. Thank goodness for that, I had just ordered a load!!

  • Reply Deb Monday - September 25, 2017 at 11:43 am

Just had an email from Charlotte Tilbury that says the magic foundation is not vegan. Have they changed it?

  • Reply saskia Wednesday - September 13, 2017 at 10:50 am

Hello, I was wondering if you know if that magic cream is vegan? thank you xo

    • Reply Tashina Combs Tuesday - September 19, 2017 at 8:46 am

It used to be vegan, but it no longer is.

  • Reply Nicole Monday - July 31, 2017 at 2:01 pm

Did The Sophisticate Luxury Palette get reformulated? I’m almost certain it was on the list before.

    • Reply Tashina Combs Friday - August 11, 2017 at 11:50 am

Sadly it did and is no longer vegan. 🙁

  • Reply Rosanna Monday - July 24, 2017 at 5:45 pm

Hi there thank you for this list it is so helpful. I noticed some things weren’t on your list and the products are fairly new. I was wondering if the following products are vegan, the overnight bronze glow mask, unisex healthy glow hydrating tint, supermodel body highlighter and bitch perfect lipstick. Thanks in advance

    • Reply Tashina Combs Tuesday - January 1, 2019 at 10:36 am

      Hi Rosana,

The list has been updated and includes some of those products, but not all. I hope this helps!

  • Reply Rebecca Kenyon Monday - May 22, 2017 at 12:46 pm

Hi Tashina, Charlotte Tilbury told me the Scent of a Dream perfume was vegan, I am worried that it is not on your list and I could have been misinformed? Thanks for all your hard work!

  • Reply Gloria Thursday - May 11, 2017 at 10:37 pm

Do you know if the perfume scent of a dream is cruelty free

  • Reply Robin Holbrook Tuesday - May 9, 2017 at 10:50 am

After much looking FINALLY a site that I can understand about these products!!!! Thank you so much!!! I am trying to find vegan makeup for our hot and humid summer!!!!!! Every time I think I have it decided I find out the product is NOT vegan!!!!!! My regular makeup just slides off my face in the South Texas summer!!!! I’m still looking!!!!!

  • Reply Lee Wednesday - April 19, 2017 at 4:17 pm

As the Charlotte Tilbury brushes are made with natural hair, can it still be classed as a cruelty free comapny?

    • Reply Tashina Combs Sunday - April 30, 2017 at 2:55 pm

I use the definition that cruelty-free means no animal testing. Since they don’t take part in animal testing, Charlotte Tilbury is cruelty-free. I don’t use animal hair brushes, lashes, etc myself but I consider it to fall under a different blanket than animal testing.

  • Reply eve Friday - April 7, 2017 at 1:44 pm

    Hi Tashina,
Any idea about Charlotte Tilbury perfume? Is it cruelty free? I see it includes musks, but could these be synthetic?

  • Reply RK Wednesday - March 15, 2017 at 4:04 am

    Hi Tashina,

firstly, thank you for all of the work you do!

i know the “Cheek to Chic” blushes aren’t listed above but can you confirm that those are not vegan?

  • Reply Rajni R. Monday - March 13, 2017 at 11:04 am

I was looking at the packaging for the Wonderglow Primer and the ingredients listed include “squalene”… I correct in assuming there is some type of squalene that is not animal derived?

    • Reply Tashina Combs Wednesday - March 15, 2017 at 9:36 am

That is correct. It can be derived from several plant sources or be synthetic.

  • Reply Rebecca Kenyon Friday - February 24, 2017 at 4:38 pm

Thank you so much for this update, they seem to have made more products vegan which is great news. I have begged them to make their pillow talk lipstick vegan. They also told me their perfume is vegan ?

  • Reply Sashashimi Thursday - February 23, 2017 at 11:11 pm

Thank you for this! This is very helpful.

    • Reply Tashina Combs Monday - June 5, 2017 at 5:05 pm

It’s been reformulated and is no longer vegan. 🙁

  • Reply Oxana Tuesday - January 3, 2017 at 11:15 am

Hi! Do you happen to know why the Multi-Miracle Glow didn’t make it to the list? Thanks!

  • Reply Freda Tuesday - November 29, 2016 at 8:44 am

Charlotte Tilbury came out with some new stuff. Do you know if any of it is vegan? 🙂

  • Reply Siobhan Saturday - November 19, 2016 at 9:20 am

If a lipstick isn’t listed here and has ‘may contain carmine’ on it, then is it likely that it does contain carmine? I’ve just purchased Very Victoria and I’m unsure now about whether it’s vegan.

    • Reply Tashina Combs Tuesday - November 22, 2016 at 8:58 pm

Sadly, yes. They use the same ingredient listing for all shades of the same product. So if it’s not listed here, it likely does contain carmine.

      • Reply Carole Friday - August 11, 2017 at 4:43 am

Hi, I’m a bit lost because you say if a lipstick isn’t listed here, it does contain carmine but I checked on Charlotte Tilbury’s website and for Sexy Sienna which is listed here, there is the mention “may contain carmine”. I do you know if one lipstick is vegan compared to another if both may contain carmine? Thank you

        • Reply Tashina Combs Friday - August 11, 2017 at 11:45 am

The brand confirmed which shades are vegan and free of carmine. 🙂

Hi. I bought (and just applied!) So Marilyn only to find it has Carmine (CI 75470) listed on the box :'( disappointed

    • Reply Tashina Combs Monday - September 19, 2016 at 7:57 am

The carmine should be listed under +/-, which means may or may not contain. If it’s not, please let me know so that I can ask the brand about this. They use the same boxes for all shades even though not all shades have carmine. I hope this helps!

K.I.S.S.I.N.G products do contain carmine. The ingredients are on the website !

    • Reply Tashina Combs Monday - March 28, 2016 at 11:38 am

      Hi Brisa,

Carmine is on the may contain list for the ingredients of these lipsticks because not all shades contain carmine. 🙂

I have just emailed about the new Hot Lips lipstick collection to find out if any shades are Vegan…really hoping that some are suitable as they have some really pretty shades! I received a response saying they are currently awaiting confirmation regarding ingredients for the Hot Lips collection…hopefully we won’t have to wait too long!

According to the Charlotte Tilbury website, all the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks have Carmine in them! Boo 🙁

    • Reply Tashina Combs Sunday - November 29, 2015 at 11:27 pm

      Hi Ann,

The ingredient listings for the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks list carmine under “may contain”, but not all shades contain them. This list was created with Charlotte Tilbury and they confirmed multiple times that the shades listed here do not contain carmine. 🙂

      • Reply Jemm Monday - June 27, 2016 at 12:51 pm

I queried the same thing as well re the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks after having previously received email confirming the above shades were suitable for Vegans. It is confusing that Carmine is listed on the product page for each shade as I’m sure CT get lots of email asking about Vegan products…hopefully they will update it with the ones that don’t.

  • Reply Julie Wednesday - September 16, 2015 at 9:18 am

I’m glad the list has so many products. As always thank you for this!
