Vegan Cuts December Beauty Box Review

Vegan Cuts December Beauty Box

The Vegan Cuts December Beauty Box recently arrived at my door. The November box was really awesome so I had very high hopes for this one as well. I had watched their preview video and already knew about a couple of the items that would be in the box. I was so anxious to try them out and to see what else was included!

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly subscription service that delivers several cruelty free and vegan items directly to your door. It can also be shipped worldwide! Prices start at $19.95 per month. It’s a great way to try new brands and new products without the commitment of buying the full-size version.

Cruelty Free Alternatives to Unilever Brands

Cruelty Free Alternatives to Unilever Brands

When researching any brand owned by Unilever, all of their brands route you to their corporate policy on animal testing. At this time, all Unilever brands state that they do not test on animals unless required by law. Required by law animal testing may sound necessary, but the truth is that the majority of global markets do not require animal testing. In this guide, Logical Harmony will help you find cruelty free alternatives to Unilever brands.

The current animal testing policy of Unilever and all of it’s brands can be found on their Sustainable Living page. It states –

Unilever is committed to the elimination of animal testing. We are equally committed to consumer health and safety, and to the safety of our workforce and the environment. We do not test finished products on animals unless demanded by the regulatory authorities in the few countries where this is the law. In such cases, we try to convince the local authorities to change the law. Where some testing of ingredients is required by law or currently unavoidable, we aim to minimise the number of animals used.

In pursuit of these goals, Unilever on the one hand applies strict internal control procedures to ensure that animal testing is only carried out when no alternatives are available and, on the other hand, invests in developing and applying alternative approaches to replace animal testing in safety assessments for consumer products.

To many this may sound as if the brand is trying to avoid animal testing. However, animal testing is optional for all brands. They choose to sell in markets that require it. In the markets that do require animal testing, the brands themselves pay 3rd parties and government agencies to conduct these tests. Animal testing as required by law may also occur when the brand uses ingredients that certain laws may require to be tested on animals. This is, again, a decision the brand makes on their own. Brands do not need to use ingredients that need to be tested on animals.

Currently, Unilever owns many major household, food, and beauty brands. The beauty brands that they own include Axe, Caress, Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy, Consort, Degree, Dove, Lever 2000, Nexxus, Noxema, Motions, Pond’s, Q-Tips, Simple Skincare, St. Ives, Suave, Tigi, Tresemme, and Vaseline. A full list of brands owned by Unilever can be found here.

If you are looking for cruelty free alternatives to Unilever brands, this guide is meant to help you easily find replacements to your favorite products. My goal with this guide is to suggest other brands that you may want to try. The brands that are suggested do not take part in animal testing in any way and also offer products that are free of animal ingredients. All brands that make only vegan products have 100% vegan noted next to the brand names. More brands can be found on the Cruelty Free & Vegan Brand List here on Logical Harmony.

When creating this list, I tried to specifically think of brands that can easily be found in the same stores that often carry Unilever brands or are easy to find online.

Don’t see your favorite brand suggested as a cruelty free alternative to a Unilever brand? This does not necessarily  mean that they are not cruelty free! Please check the Cruelty Free & Vegan Brand List for information about even more cruelty free brands.
