Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush Review

Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush Review

Too Faced has had their line of synethic “teddy bear hair” brushes for some time now but I hadn’t tried any until recently. I was sent the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush to try and was SO excited about it. I have heard nothing about great things about the Too Faced brushes and couldn’t wait to see how it applied product. I have seen this brush used with both powder and cream products, so I wanted to put both to the test.

Claims: “Our portable, retractable Kabuki Brush is a friend to the end; one that will follow you anywhere, and thanks to its retractable cover, will never look like a hot mess. Luxurious, hard-working bristles grab pigment  and blend expertly for flawless, streak-free color.

More details from Too Faced:

  • Our signature cruelty-free Teddy Bear Hair is an exclusive, super soft and luxurious fiber that grabs and blends pigments
  • Synthetic hair bristles are long lasting and easy to clean
  • The pull-up, retractable cover protects purses and makeup bags from mess!

Pros:  Works well with powder and cream products. Compact and easy to travel with. Cruelty free brand. Vegan bristles.

Cons: None.

The Verdict: I used the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush with both powder and cream products. When I used it with a cream product, I had already applied my foundation (Too Faced Born This Way) and used this brush to buff it into my skin. The Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush did a great job of evenly and smoothly buffing my foundation. My skin looked flawless and airbrushed. I also tried it with powder products. I used it to apply powder (Too Faced Primed & Poreless Loose) to set my foundation. This brush applied the powder evenly and smoothly without disturbing my foudation or concealer at all. The brush didn’t shed during washing, and remained super soft after.

I was really impressed with the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush and have already purchased another brush from Too Faced since trying it. Have you tried the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush? What did you think of it?

Too Faced Vegan Products List

  1. Does too faced have an updated vegan products list? I emailed them months ago and got no reply. The list on their website is super old- a lot of those products aren’t there anymore, and only a few say “vegan” under the details for them on the online store.
