Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

Recently Too Faced launched the Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation. Before the launch, Too Faced spent a lot of time talking about how this foundation was game changing. I love Too Faced, but I was skeptical. There are so many foundations out there that claim to give you a flawless natural look and few live up to the claims. Considering how much I do love Too Faced and the good luck I have had with most of their products, I still wanted to give it a try.

Claims: “Born This Way is an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way.”

Ingredients: Water (Aqua) (Eau), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Isododecane, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Magnesium Sulfate, Diphenyl Dimethicone, Tribehenin, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polysilicone-11, Propylene Carbonate, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Cocos Nucifera Water, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Rhododendron Ferrugineum Extract, Alcohol, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Lecithin, Pistacia Lentiscus (Mastic) Gum, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hyaluronate, EDTA, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain/Peut Contenir (+/-): Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).

Pros: Buildable coverage. Easy to use pump bottle. Oil-free. Creamy formula. Blends easily. Very natural and semi-dewy finish. Wears well. Does not crease. Does not stick to dry skin. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: Online shade selection may be difficult. If you are looking for very full coverage foundation, this may not build to that coverage level.

The Verdict: Too Faced has done it again! The Born This Way Foundation is hands down the best foundation that I have ever used. It’s very creamy, blends extremely well, and has a very natural finish. My skin looked flawless, glowing, and, most importantly, natural. One pump is enough to cover my face for medium coverage, and a second pump builds the foundation to full coverage. I paired it with the Hangover RX Replenishing Face Primer and was really impressed with how smoothly this foundation applied and how long this foundation lasted. At the end of the day, it looked as great as it did in the morning.

This is my new favorite foundation. If you are looking for a gorgeous cruelty free and vegan foundation, definitely try this one!

    1. I did, and it’s definitely vegan! I’m not sure why, but they don’t keep the vegan list in their FAQ up to date. Some products that are vegan are on the list, some just have “vegan friendly” on the product page (but aren’t on the list), and some vegan options aren’t noted at all. It’s confusing.

  1. On their website it doesn’t list this in there all-inclusive list of vegan products. Could it be because it’s new? I just bought it but I’ll have to return it if its not vegan

    1. Hi Stacey,

For some reason, Too Faced doesn’t keep the vegan list on their FAQ page up to date. Some products are also noted as vegan on the product page itself while others are not. It definitely makes it confusing at times. If it helps, I talk to the brand often and would never promote a product unless I felt comfortable saying it was vegan.

  2. I was searching the internet about this foundation because I just bought it and love it- but saw glycerin on the ingredients and was panicking I’d just bought a product that wasn’t even vegetarian! Thankfully I see it’s vegan. All I can say is, thank God you’re around!! ?

(Wishing they’d stop putting carmine in their eyeshadows…)
