Cruelty-Free Drugstore Brands

Looking for cruelty-free drugstore brands? This guide has you covered! Many Logical Harmony readers ask for help finding good drugstore products from cruelty-free brands. Many people believe that it’s hard to find cruelty-free drugstore brands, or difficult to find cruelty-free and vegan options at the drugstore. Thankfully, there are now more cruelty-free drugstore brands than ever before!

That’s why I decided to create this list of cruelty-free drugstore brands. Out of Africa Peppermint & Tea Tree Shea Butter Foot Cream Review

Out of Africa Peppermint & Tea Tree Shea Butter Foot Cream Review

Many of us grew up using the classic peppermint foot cream but, if you are like me, it’s been hard to find a cruelty free and vegan replacement. Out of Africa is a great cruelty free brand with lots of vegan options. Their products are made with unrefined shea butter, and a portion of profits go to help programs in West Africa. I was sent the Out of Africa Peppermint & Tea Tree Shea Butter Foot Cream to try out recently. As someone who works out often, my feet could definitely use some pampering. I worked this foot cream into my nightly routine to see how it would help improve the skin on my feet.

Created to provide 100% natural relief and relaxation for tired feet, this restorative cream is enriched with 20% pure and unrefined shea butter for exceptional comfort and renewal. These anti-microbial oils will also keep feet smelling fresh. With continued use, feet will feel hydrated, silky soft and soothed with redness, achiness and irritation reduced.”

Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Vanilla Review

[maxbutton id=”1″]Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Vanilla Review

Shea butter is one of my favorite moisturizing products. I feel like everything with shea in it just works so well! When I was given a chance to try the Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Vanilla, I was interested to see how it would work out. I previously used their Shea Butter Lip Balm and the Body Oil in Grapefruit and was really pleased with the results. I have used a variety of body oils in the past and the results tend to vary.

Claims: “Our body oils contain pure, unrefined shea butter and are infused with avocado, sweet almond and olive oil. These oils will glide on smoothly and penetrate deeply into your skin without ever feeling greasy or sticky. Naturally rich in vitamins and antioxidants A, E, and F, they provide the ultimate nourishing, hydrating and anti-aging benefits. Your skin will feel incredibly soft and supple!”

Ingredients: Pure unrefined shea butter, avocado oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E oil, vanilla bean oil

Pros: Sweet scent. Very moisturizing. Absorbs into skin quickly. No greasy feel. Paraben free. Sulfate free. Phthalate free. Cruelty free and vegan formula.

Cons: The scent may be a bit sweet for some.

The Verdict: Just like the grapefruit body oil, I also really liked this one. It smells so sweet and delicious! You can tell that there is real vanilla in the product. I personally love it, but it may be too sweet for some. It was very moisturizing and not at all greasy. I feel like these body oils really live up to their claims. Plus, they just smell delicious!

Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Grapefruit Review

[maxbutton id=”1″]Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Grapefruit Review

In the warm summer months, I love a heavy duty moisturizer that will make my skin feel super soft. The problem with many of them is that they are just too heavy and end up leaving my skin feeling sticky. When I was given a chance to try the Out of Africa Shea Butter Body Oil in Grapefruit, I was interested to see how it would work out. I previously used their Shea Butter Lip Balm and was really pleased with the results.

Ingredients: Pure unrefined shea butter, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, grapefruit oil

Pros: Fresh and natural grapefruit scent. Very moisturizing. Absorbs into skin quickly. No greasy feel. Paraben free. Sulfate free. Phthalate free. Cruelty free and vegan formula.

Cons: None.

The Verdict: Overall, I really enjoyed this body oil. I loved the scent! It smells like you just cut open a grapefruit, which is super refreshing and energizing. It moisturized well without leaving me feeling sticky or heavy. I’m not sure if I saw any anti-aging benefits like the claims mentioned, but with long-term use and the ingredients used I could see there potentially being some anti-aging benefits.

Out of Africa Pure Shea Butter Lip Balm Review

Out of Africa Pure Shea Butter Lip Balm Review

I’m what some would call a lip balm addict. A tube or two in the purse, one or two on my vanity, another couple on my desk… Does this sound familiar to anyone else? When Out of Africa offered to send me a couple of their pure shea butter lip balms to try, it seemed like a great match. Cold weather this time of year has turned lip balm from a nice to have beauty item to a must have beauty item. Out of Africa makes these cruelty free and vegan lip balms in several flavors, so there is one to please everyone.

Claims: “Our luxurious lip balm does more than taste good, it provides natural healing with healthy fatty acids and antioxidant vitamins A, E & F, that provides moisture to keep lips soft and supple.”

Ingredients:

Unscented – Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit (Pure Unrefined Shea Butter), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract

Tropical Vanilla – Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) (unrefined), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifolia Wax), Cocoa Butter, Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia), Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia), Vitamin E, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) Flower (organic)

Pomegranate and Acai – Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, Candelilla Wax, Grapeseed Oil, Pomegranate Flavor, Cocoa Butter, Berry Flavor, Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract, Calendula

Pros: Cruelty free and vegan. No Parabens, Sulfates, Petrolatums or Phthalates.

Cons: None.

The Verdict: I got to try Out of Africa’s Pure Shea Lip Balm in three flavors – Unscented, Tropical Vanilla with SPF 15, and Pomegranate and Acai. What I liked most about these balms is that they are moisturizing without being sticky. I love a good thick lip balm, but really dislike ones that end up being sticky and tacky. The unscented tube was a bit larger than average lip balm tubes. This make it perfect for double duty on other dry spots. Both the vanilla and pomegranate scents were natural and delicious. Neither was artificial smelling or overpowering. Overall, I really enjoyed these lip balms!
