I Tried Splendid Spoon Smoothies & Bowls So You Don't Have To (But You'll Want To)

Curious about Splendid Spoon? I gave this plant-based meal delivery service a try!

I’ve been working from home for years, but during the past few months, certain things about it have definitely been harder than they used to be. With limiting grocery store trips I found myself feeling uninspired and in a total food rut. When Splendid Spoon reached out and offered to send me some of their smoothies and bowls, I was immediately interested. Several content creators that I follow have been customers for a long time and have always said great things about them.

What Splendid Spoon offers are easy, healthy meals delivered to your door. It takes the thought and planning out of meal prep. They sent me a week of their breakfast and lunch plans. I wanted to talk about the pros and cons here, and share my overall thoughts with you.

So what exactly is Splendid Spoon?

Splendid Spoon is a meal delivery service that focuses on healthy plant-based options. They offer smoothies, soups, grain bowls, and wellness shots. After you place your order, the pre-made goodies are shipped to you. They are frozen when shipped so you can pop them in your freezer for longer storage, or put them in the fridge to thaw if you want to enjoy them right away. The smoothies also have best by dates printed on them so you can know how fresh they are. You can also view the nutrition facts and ingredients of each before ordering too.

What plans do they offer?

There are three different plans from Splendid Spoon so you can figure out what works best for you. Just want the breakfast smoothies? You got it. Want some smoothies and bowls to cover your lunch? You got it. Need breakfast and lunch, but also feel like you need a 1-day reset? You got it! The plans are customizable and you choose when they arrive.

What meals and smoothies did I get to try?

Splendid Spoon sent me a week of their breakfast and lunch plan. This included a ginger and lemon wellness shot, five smoothies, and five different grain bowls.

The smoothies were great. They have such a mix of options and sent some that were more sweet and fruity, but also some that were a bit heavier on the greens. Some of them also contain pea protein. My favorites were the Mint Chip Smoothie and the AB&J smoothie. The Green Matcha Smoothie sounds so good and I’ve heard the Chocolate Cherry Smoothie is amazing.

The variety of smoothies was so much fun. I loved having so many flavors to try out! They all kept me feeling full all morning.

I tried several different grain bowls from Splendid Spoon. They sent a good variety and I loved the mix of flavors. My favorites were the Aloo Gobi Quinoa Bowl and the Kabocha Congee. I loved the flavors of these. They were light, fresh, and a nice break from what I would normally make at home.

At first, I was worried the portions of the grain bowls were too small. But they are so fresh and healthy and filling. It was actually the perfect amount of food. I didn’t feel too full and I didn’t feel heavy after them.

What were my thoughts on Splendid Spoon after giving them a try?

Overall, I really enjoyed Splendid Spoon! It was such a good way to try new flavors, and to simplify healthy meals. I could see the plans being great if you’re busy, struggling to fit in healthy meals for yourself, or if you simply need to reset your diet. I think that it would also be a great option if you’re like me and feeling in a total food rut.

It shipped quickly and came packaged well. The smoothies and bowls were still frozen when they arrived which made me feel comfortable knowing it was all still fresh. Each meal is packaged individually and you can re-use the containers that the meals and smoothies come in if you’d like. I’ve found them to be great sizes for storing leftovers.

It was so nice to have different flavors to try out, and meals that were things I don’t know how to make. Instead of having to deal with ordering food delivery, I was able to just take them out of my fridge, warm them up on the stove (you can use a microwave if you have one), and have a fun healthy meal.

I’ll definitely be trying more from Splendid Spoon in the future! I love the plans that they offer and how simple they make eating well.
