Seventh Generation Boosts Soothing Serum Review

Seventh Generation Boosts Soothing Serum Review

Seventh Generation is a brand that I grew up using. Even as a kid, I remember using their dish soap and laundry soap. It’s reassuring to know that I grew up with such an ethical brand! Seventh Generation is cruelty free on all levels and the vast majority of their products are also vegan. When the brand told me that they were starting to venture into skin care I was so excited! Being given a chance to try and review some of their new products was even more exciting. Serums are a relatively new product to me and I couldn’t wait to see how the new Seventh Generation Boosts worked on my skin!

Update on September 19, 2016 – Unilever has announced plans to purchase Seventh Generation. For consumers like myself who do not purchase from brands with a parent company that test on animals, I will need to replace most of my cleaning products based on this acquisition alone.

Seventh Generation to be Bought by Unilever

Claims: “Seventh Generation Boosts™ are formulated with pure botanical oils that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids. Oat, Argan & Zi Cao calm problem skin & balance uneven skin tone. Visibly improves skin texture by relieving aggravated & stressed skin.

Ingredients: Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond), Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed), Argania Spinosa, Avena Sativa (Oat), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower), Lithospermum Erythrorhizon (Gromwell), Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary)

Pros: Soy free. Gluten free. Corn free. Paraben free. Hypoallergenic. Carry-on travel size packages. Only 1-2 pumps are needed per use and each bottle contains about 295 pumps. Absorbs quickly.

Cons: The pump packaging cannot be closed once opened, which means it has to stay in an upright position or else product may leak.

The Verdict: I have to say that I was extremely impressed with this serum! It was incredibly moisturizing. At first, the two pumps seemed like a small amount of product to be applying. I was used to having to use more. But the two pumps was enough product for my face, neck and chest. This serum is just very very concentrated. It also absorbed very quickly and had no scent. The best part was that this the Seventh Generation Boosts Soothing Serum really did relieve skin aggravation and stress. In the weeks that I used this serum I saw the tone of my skin visibly improve on a daily basis. I also did not get a single clogged pore – not even around times when I usually have a zit or two caused by hormones. I have never found a skin care product that worked this well with my skin.

I will definitely be buying this serum again. The ingredients are items that I can easily recognize, so I feel good about using it on my skin. Most of all, it lived up to each and every one of it’s claims.

I bought three of these: firming, revitalizing, and hydrating. I can’t wait to use them, but I’ve promised myself that I need to finish my bottle of Leakey Collection Maruala Oil before I can open any other serum/oil.
