Seventh Generation Boosts Hydrating Serum Review

Seventh Generation Boosts Hydrating Serum Review

Seventh Generation is a brand that I grew up using. Even as a kid, I remember using their dish soap and laundry soap. It’s reassuring to know that I grew up with such an ethical brand! Seventh Generation is cruelty free on all levels and the vast majority of their products are also vegan. When the brand told me that they were starting to venture into skin care I was so excited! Being given a chance to try and review some of their new products was even more exciting. Serums are a relatively new product to me and I couldn’t wait to see how the new Seventh Generation Boosts worked on my skin!

Claims: “Seventh Generation Boosts™ are formulated with pure botanical oils that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids. Jojoba, Acai & Passionflower restore natural moisture balance for noticeably softer, more radiant skin. Helps to relieve & protect against chapping, cracking & roughness due to dryness by improving skin’s moisture content. Formulated to provide all-day moisture.

Ingredients: Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond), Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba), Passiflora Edulis, Oryza Sativa (Rice), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower), Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí), Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu), Vanilla Planifolia, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile), Lavandula (Lavender), Angustifolia (Lavender), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary)

Pros: Soy free. Gluten free. Corn free. Paraben free. Hypoallergenic. Carry-on travel size packages. Only 1-2 pumps are needed per use and each bottle contains about 295 pumps. Absorbs quickly.

Cons: The pump packaging cannot be closed once opened, which means it has to stay in an upright position or else product may leak.

The Verdict: This was also a great serum! It had a bit more scent to it, but it was a very light and very calming sweet rosemary scent. This serum immediately felt more moisturizing than the Soothing Serum. I have combination skin and my cheeks tend to get really dry, so I focused the application of this serum there. In the morning, my skin was very hydrated and smooth. I applied the serum morning and evening and noticed that, over time, my skin was staying moisturized throughout the day. This was always a problem before. It seemed like halfway through the day my cheeks would be dry and sometimes, in harsh weather, flaky. This serum cleared that right up!

I didn’t like this serum quite as much as the Soothing Serum. However, I was still very impressed with the Seventh Generation Boosts Hydrating Serum! After trying to the two serums, I am very excited to see what other skin care items Seventh Generation comes out with! If you haven’t tried the serums yet, definitely do. They worked wonders on my skin and are at  a great price point.

I just picked this up at Walgreens for $3.87. I figured at the very least it would be a great hand/cuticle “boost”. I’m happy to read your review. All of these boost serums were on sale at my Walgreens starting last week.

I had no idea that Seventh Generation was just an established brand — I thought it was relatively new. Thanks for the review, I’d love to give this product a try!
