It’s no secret that I love NCLA polishes. Recently, they released the Candy Coat collection. These textured polishes dry matte for a unique finish. I received the collection of four polishes for review and am very excited to share my thoughts with you.

Claims: “Keep the facts straight but sugarcoat your nails with this icy blue nail lacquer that dries to a sweet matte finish.”

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Nitrocellulose, Triphenyl Phosphate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Diacetone Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Benzophenone-1, SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.), Acrylates Copolymer, Silica, May Contain (+/-):, Bismuth Oxychloride, Oxides, Blue 1, Aluminum Powder, Red 34, Red 6, Red 7, Yellow 5 Lake, Iron Oxides, Violet 2, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Isobutylphenoxy Epoxy Resin

Pros: DBP free. Toluene free. Camphor free. Formaldehyde free. Cruelty free and vegan. Wears well without a topcoat. You can make it shiny with a top coat if you don’t want to wear it matte. Very pigmented shade. Very matte finish.

Cons: Don’t Sugar Coat It had great color pigment. The only potential con is what I saw with Cinnamon Girl, it’s so sparkly in the bottle that some may not realize that it dries to a matte finish.

The Verdict: I really liked Don’t Sugar Coat It. It’s perfect for the current navy makeup trend right now. The matte finish and texture are so fun with this color, too! Like the other shades in the Candy Coat collection, it wore well and took several days before any chipping occurred.

  1. Awesome! I’m really loving your blog since switching all my make-up to cruelty free brands 🙂 I think I need to do some reviewing of them over on mine to spread the message 🙂
