Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer Review

Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer Review

I have had a lot of mixed experiences with drugstore primers in the past. The majority of them have left me feeling underwhelmed, and the worst of them have left me with skin issues. When Milani offered to send me their new primers, I admit that I was a bit hesitant but also intrigued. I’ve had a lot of good luck with Milani products in the past and this is their first adventure into primers. The Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer sounded like it would be a great option for my dry skin.

Claims: “Add radiance and a healthy-looking glow to your complexion while softening the look of fine lines, large pores and flaws. Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer blends invisibly and maintains the skin’s moisture balance, resulting in an illuminating and flawless finish.”

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Hydroxypropylcocoate PEG-8 Dimethicone, Isododecane, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulfate, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Silica, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Ethylhexylglycerin, Menthone Glycerin Acetal, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Benzoate.

Pros: Very smooth formula. Hydrating. Makeup applied smoothly and wore well throughout the day. Minimized appearance of pores. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: May not work well on oily skin.

The Verdict: At first, I was nervous to try the Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer. Aside from primers from Pacifica, I haven’t used a drugstore primer in a long time and have had very mixed results from the ones that I have used in the past. The first thing that I noticed about this primer was how smooth the formula was. It was really creamy and lightweight. It also applied very easily and evenly. It felt more like I was applying a moisturizer than anything else. I did notice that it made my skin look a little bit brighter and did seem to help minimize the appearance of my pores. My makeup applied really smoothly over this primer.

I feel that the true test of a primer is how my skin feels and how my makeup looks much later on in the day. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Milani Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore-Minimizing Face Primer! Because I have dry skin, sometimes my foundation or concealer tends to get a little cakey in certain areas. That was not the case at all when I used this primer. My foundation and concealer looked as smooth and even as it did just after application. I also noticed that my skin felt a lot smoother and softer than it normally does that late in the day. It also still appeared brighter.

Overall, I really enjoyed this primer. I think that it is not only a great drugstore primer option, but is a great primer in general for those with dry skin.

Does any one know if Milani have an up to date (2017) list of all there vegan items. I have contact their customer service team and just get told they don’t have a list and if I tell what item I am looking at they will try and help me. This is such a pain as I just want to browse.

    Thanks
