Finding a cruelty free and vegan liquid liner is fairly easy. There are lots of drugstore and high-end options out there. Finding one that’s cruelty free, vegan, felt tip, dark black, and water-resistant? That’s a whole other story. When Milani launched a vegan section on their website, I noticed that several eye liners were included. The Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner sounded the most promising to me.
Claims: “It’s always great to have options. And with this versatile ‘extreme’ felt tip tool, you can line your lids in three different intensities – thin, medium and heavy – just by switching up the angle you hold it. About the formula: It’s waterproof, non-feathering and glides on smoothly in a single stroke.“

Ingredients:Â Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Styrene/Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Coco-Glucoside, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Laureth-12 Sulfate, Ammonium Hydroxide, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Black 2 (CI 77266).
Pros:Â Easy to create thin or thick lines. Dries quickly. Water-resistant. Very dark black color. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.
Cons: It can be tricky to get a smooth, even line.
The Verdict: I go back and forth on this liner. It applies really dark black color, dries quickly, is water-resistant, and you really cannot beat the price. The formula of the liner itself is wonderful and is what keeps me coming back to it. But the felt tip applicator needs a little work. It’s very long. I feel that this may be to help achieve the buildable line that Milani says this liner is perfect for, but it can make getting a smooth and even line difficult. This is a great liner to use when you have the extra time to apply this liner slowly and carefully. If you are looking for one that you can quickly and easily apply, this may not be the right one for you.

I havent tried that eyeliner but I actually use the milani extreme/infinite eyeliner every single day! My eyelids are extremely oily for some reason- to the point that even wearing two eyeshadow primers cant keep eyeshadow or eyeliner on my lids. The infinite eyeliner stays on forever!!! Only coconut oil will break it down. However, only the staying power and the super black color are the pros. The cons are that the applicator is like a long paintbrush so its hard to get a straight/even line and the formula gets goopey really fast. I make it work because its the only thing that will stay on my eyelids but it can definitely use some work!
I’m with you on the applicator. I’m currently using the Physician’s Formula Eye Booster 2 in 1 liner and it’s wonderful. I read recently that it’s a dupe for the Kat Von D tattoo liner.
