Kaia Naturals Bamboo Tapioca Beads Cleansing Kit Review

Kaia Naturals Bamboo Tapioca Beads Cleansing Kit Review

Exfoliating your skin helps to clear up and brighten your complexion. It can remove dry and dull skin, diffuse the look of fine lines, keep your pores clean to reduce breakouts, and help create an even skin tone. There are a lot of exfoliating products on the market, however a lot of them have harsh chemicals or can be irritating for sensitive skin.

Mary Futher created Kaia Naturals after working at several large beauty brands. The goal of Kaia Naturals is to fill the need for natural yet functional skincare products that everyone can use. All of their products include bamboo which is known to polish and cleanse your skin. I received the Bamboo Tapioca Beads Customized Cleansing Kit to try out. This kit comes with the Bamboo Tampioca Beads powdered facial cleanser, a small tube of moringa oil, and a bamboo mixing spoon.

Claims: “The first customizable cleansing kit allows you the versatility in customizing your cleanser (including the consistency) by adding droplets of different liquids. You can intensify or lessen the degree of exfoliation with each cleanse, making it perfect for ultra sensitive skin.”

Ingredients: Kaolin (white clay), manihot esculenta (tapioca) root starch, sodium cocoyl isethonate, chick pea powder, babusa arundicasea stem extract, citrus tangerina, citrus grandis, citrus nobilis, silica, moringa aleifera

Pros:  Easy to use and customize the ratio. Great at gentle exfoliating. Spill resistant container. Recyclable packaging. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: Can be a bit of a learning curve for the first couple of uses.

The Verdict: Kaia Naturals suggests mixing the Bamboo Tapioca Beads with various additions of oil, tea, or water to create a customized cleanser for your skin. I tried the cleanser mixed with both water and the moringa oil that comes with the kit. Because you customize the blend yourself, this can be a bit of a learning curve. I thought this was fun though! It was a great way to experiment with different amounts of cleanser and water or oil to create a formula that was as gentle as I wanted. This cleanser effectively and easily removed my makeup and left my skin feeling really clean and soft. It gently exfoliated and I can see this being a great cleanser for those who want to exfoliate daily.

Overall, this was a really great cleanser. I love that the Bamboo Tapioca Beads are so easy to customize and that you can create so many different blends with it. For those whose skin changes through the seasons, I can see this being a wonderful addition to a skincare routine to help improve the tone and appearance of your skin.

  1. Did you laugh like some kind of mad vegan scientist? That was the image I was seeing when hearing you can adjust the ratio, it does sound like good fun. My big problem with most natural skin care ranges is that because they’re often full of essential oils they end up making my oily skin worse. Even brands which I adore for body, hand, and feet care are not brands I can use on my face because the oil is just too much on my face.
