One of my favorite YouTube channels belongs to Georgette. Her channel, NYCGeorgette, is full of reviews, beauty DIYs, haul videos and more. Best of all – everything featured on her channel is cruelty-free! It only seemed natural to have one of my favorite vloggers do a guest post here on Logical Harmony!
I found a beautiful display of Gabriel Cosmetics at my local Whole Foods and could not resist the temptation of having a swatch party. I was immediately impressed by the classy packaging that this cruelty-free, Vegan, and natural brand offers. The moment I saw their lip stick, Matte Cerise, was love at first site. Matte Cerise is a plum/brown shade that is especially gorgeous in the Fall/Winter. The swatch was creamy and glided across my skin with ease. It didn’t take much for me to decide to make a purchase.
Claims: “Fabulous lip color formulated with natural waxes, emollients and other plant derived conditioning ingredients including Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera and Bisabolol to seal in moisture and protect lips from environmental aggressions. Made from a petrochemical-free base of Candelilla Wax. Feather resistant formula provides long lasting color and a smooth polished finish.”
Ingredients: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius(Safflower) Seed Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Bisabolol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Iron Oxides, Mica, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract, Titanium Dioxide.
Pros: Gluten Free. PABA-free. Easy to apply. Long Lasting. Doesn’t bleed or feather. Creamy consistency, but does not melt or break. Buildable. No harsh scent or taste.
Cons: It is only available at health food stores (such as Whole Foods), Vegan boutiques, or through the company’s website: www.gabrielcosmeticsinc.com.
The Verdict: Matte Cerise is hands down one of the best lip sticks that I have ever purchased. It is an amazing cruelty-free alternative to two of my former favorite Revlon lip sticks- Rum Raisin and Raisin Rage. I love that it is buildable. When I crave a simple, easy lip, I apply it lightly for a beautiful wash of color. On days when I am in the mood for a vampy lip, I use a heavier application and add a dark lip liner.
I have been enjoying Matte Cerise so much that I recently purchased two more Gabriel lip sticks (Clay and Nude), which I love just as much. They are quickly becoming my favorite lip stick line and I for see myself making many more purchases.
Gabriel color offers earth-tone, neutral shades of cosmetics. If you are one who prefers more color options, be sure to check out their cruelty-free, Vegan, and natural line called, Zuzu Luxe.
