Dr. Bronner’s Shaving Soap Review

Dr. Bronner's Shaving Soap Review

I have been using the Acure Organics Shaving Gel for quite a while, but when I was shopping on Thrive Market and saw the Dr. Bronner’s Shaving Soap I really wanted to give it a try. I have been using the Dr. Bronner’s soaps for years. They are a great brand with great ethics behind them. Not only are they cruelty free, but most items are vegan and most ingredients are fair trade and organic.

Claims: “Get a close, comfortable shave with organic ingredients that nourish and cleanse the skin! Like organic shikakai powder from India, used there for centuries on hair and body. And fair trade & organic sugar from Paraguay, giving our Shaving Soaps a delightful caramel color and aroma, moisturizing and soothing naturally. These are blended carefully with our coconut-olive-hemp castile soap base—our soapmaking tradition!”

Ingredients: Organic Sucrose, Organic White Grape Juice, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Shikakai Powder, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Tocopherol

Pros: Smells like caramel. Works well to prep skin for shaving. USDA Organic. Some fair trade ingredients used. Non GMO Project verified. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: If you use self tanning lotion or mouse, this shaving soap will may cause them to fade quicker than they would otherwise.

The Verdict: I think that the Dr. Bronner’s Shaving Soap is a really great shaving option. I loved the smell! The formula foamed up really easily. It did a great job of helping me get a close shave without any knicks or cuts. I also felt that it left my skin really smooth. The only downside was that I noticed my self tan faded faster than normal. I would definitely buy the Dr. Bronner’s Shaving Soap again. I think it is one of the better shaving gels I have used.

Have you used the Dr. Bronner’s Shaving Soap? What did you think of it?
