Removing your eye make up each night is one of the biggest favors that you can do for your skin. No matter how tired you are, this is a step you don’t want to skip. The lovely folks at DeVita Natural Skin Care sent me their Creamy Aloe Eye Makeup Remover to try out. They are a cruelty free line, free of both animal testing and animal ingredients. As someone who understands the importance of preventative skin care, I couldn’t wait to try this makeup remover.
Claims: “Our light, silky lotion spreads evenly and quickly, while effectively removing all signs of eye make-up. Gentle aloe and avocado oil, plus soothing green tea coat the tender sensitive eye area, and help remove normal eye make-up without stinging or tingling. Leaves eye area feeling clean, not stripped. May need to reapply on very heavy make-up. Use cotton swab for removal of fine details.”
Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera gel), Aqua (purified water), (Allantoin extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract, Calendula officinalis (calendula) flower extract, Humulus lupulus (hops) extract, Glycerin (vegetable), Camellia sinensis (Japanese green tea) leaf extract, Capric/caprylic triglycerides (derived from coconut), Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Hydrolyzed wheat protein amino acids, Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic Glutamate, Lecithin phospholipid, Fucus vesiculosus (bladderwrack) extract, Spirulina maxima (spirulina) extract, Usnea barbata (oak moss) extract, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract.
Pros: Paraben free. Lightweight formula – creamy without being heavy. Natural ingredients. No strong scent. Works great on natural makeup formulas.
Cons: Doesn’t work as well on non-natural makeup formulas. Does sting eyes a little bit.
The Verdict: This eye makeup remover left my skin feeling amazing. It wasn’t heavy or greasy and did a great job of moisturizing. It was, however, not a good match for my eye makeup. I applied this product twice before going to my usual straight Vitamin E oil to remove my eye liner and mascara. I tried it with another mascara (with a more natural formula) and no eyeliner and it worked really well with one application! DeVita Creamy Alow Eye Makeup Remover is definitely a great product for those who have a more natural based makeup routine.
Overall, I did like this product. But it just doesn’t work with my normal makeup routine. If you are into natural beauty this is a great product for you!
