Dermalogica PreCleanse Oil and Wipes Review

Dermalogica PreCleanse Oil and Wipes Review

One of the latest skincare trends is double cleansing. What exactly is double cleansing? It is using an oil cleanser to remove your makeup and following up with a traditional cleanser. Dermalogica currently has two items to help you with your double cleanse – their PreCleanse Oil and their PreCleanse Wipes. I was able to try out the Dermalogica PreCleanse Set thanks to iFabbo and wanted to share my thoughts here.

Claims: “Deep-cleansing oil melts impurities and make-up from skin. As the first step in your Double Cleanse regimen, PreCleanse thoroughly melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products that build up on skin, allowing your prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results. Achieve ultra clean and healthy skin on the go with the Double Cleanse regimen that begins with PreCleanse. Each biodegradable wipe melts away layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, pollutants and products, allowing your prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results.”

Pros:  Very effective at removing makeup. The wipes are in a well-sealed container and perfect for travel. Cruelty free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: The tube of oil may be difficult for those new to a double cleanse.

The Verdict: I was impressed with both the PreCleanse Oil and the PreCleanse wipes from Dermalogica. Both the oil and the wipes worked extremely well to remove makeup. Even my stubborn liquid liner and waterproof mascara was easily removed by these products. They did not irritate my skin at all and left it feeling soft and moisturized but not greasy. I found that when using the wipes, they felt dry at first but rubbing them on my skin brought the oil in the wipe out and it started working quickly. With the PreCleanse oil, you want to rub a small amount on your skin, add a little water, and keep rubbing the oil into your skin. This was really effective, but I can see it being slight adjustment to those used to just using a cleanser.

Both the Dermalogica PreCleanse Oil and Wipes were a great part of my double cleanse. If you are new to the double cleanse methods, these are great products to start with.
