Beautisol Self-Tanning Mousse Review

Beautisol Self-Tanning Mousse Review

One of my favorite self-tanner brands is Beautisol! I’ve been a fan of their products for years. Their self-tanners have always offered natural looking color that lasts. Now that it’s becoming summer dress weather, being tanned is on the minds of a lot of people. While sunbathing may have been a past-time of previous generations, all the knowledge we have now shows that prolonged sun exposure does more harm that good. Not only does it increase your change of skin cancer, but you’re also more prone to wrinkles and sun spots. Avoid all of that potential damage by getting a great sunless tan!

Not only is Beautisol a cruelty free, but they are also a vegan brand. They recently came out with a new formula of their classic self tanner. When I was asked to try the mousse and review it, I just had to! The self-tanning mousse is also paraben-free, propylene glycol-free, and sodium laurel/laureth sulfate-free.

Claims:You get our super fast drying, long-lasting, natural-looking medium tan with our odor eliminating technology – Pure Scent.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Dihydroxyacetone, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Candelilla/Jojoba/Rice Bran Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Cyclopentasiloxane, Citroflex 2, Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Erythrulose, Phenoxyethanol, Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil, Caramel, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Phytic Acid, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (D-alpha), Fragrance/Parfum, Blue 1, Yellow 5, Red 33

Pros: The mousse formula dries extremely fast! It’s perfect for quick self-tanning sessions and you don’t have to wait more than a couple of minutes to get dressed. The color develops gradually and looks very natural. It also dries to a matte finish.

Cons: The formula is tinted, but not overly so. That combined with the quick drying time may make this a difficult self-tanner for inexperienced users. If you’re not confident in your abilities, enlist a friend to help you!

The Verdict: This is, hands down, the best self-tanner that I have ever used! There are not enough words to express how much I’m loving this self-tanning mousse from Beautisol! The color develops slowly and is very natural looking. I especially love the matte formula. Most self-tanning lotions have illuminator or glitter in them and it’s nice to have an option where it isn’t obvious you’re wearing the self-tanner. Another great perk about Beautisol is that you don’t turn orange and it’s very difficult to end up with streaks. Especially if you use the application mitt.

Included with purchase is an application mitt and guide to help you with the self-tanning process. The guide is incredibly helpful, but you can also check out How To Video’s on the brands website for more tips. When I first started using self-tanner, I watched all of these videos and found that they really helped me figure out the best way to apply these products. 1. How well would this work for someone who is as pale as a ghost? I’ve found that all gradual self tanners have me looking orange within an hour after the first use. Towards the end of summer, they work great but in the beginning when my skin hasn’t seen sun for months, it’s a disaster.

    1. Hi Michele,

If you are very pale, I think that it would still work. The color is very natural. I would start with less than suggested and make sure that your skin is well exfoliated and well moisturized first.
