Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet Recipe with Perfect Fit Protein

Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet Recipe with Perfect Fit Protein

The other day after a long Tone It Up workout I had a craving for something fresh, fruity, and cold. Also knowing that 30 minutes after a good workout is the best time to get in some extra protein, I wanted to add some protein powder to the mix as well. The end result was this sweet but tart and protein packed sorbet.

Victoria’s Secret is No Longer Cruelty Free

Victoria's Secret is No Longer Cruelty Free

Recently, I discovered that retail giant Victoria’s Secret is no longer a cruelty free brand. They have an expanding beauty line that includes perfume, lotion, hair care, skin care, and cosmetics. For many years the brand has been cruelty free.

As readers of Logical Harmony know, I check back frequently with brands on a regular basis. On a recent check with Victoria’s Secret they answered my usual questions with no issue and checked out as being cruelty free. Logical Harmony reader Eliana however, received a different response than I had and brought this to my attention. Inconsistent responses from brands always put me on edge, and this prompted me to follow up with the brand quickly.

NCLA Candy Coat Polish in Butter Me Up Review & Swatches

[maxbutton id=”1″][maxbutton id=”2″]NCLA Candy Coat Polish in Butter Me Up Review & Swatches

One of my favorite cruelty free and vegan nail polish lines is NCLA. They are constantly coming out with amazing new collections. Recently, they released the Candy Coat collection. These textured polishes dry matte for a unique finish. When I received the collection for review, I had to try them immediately.

Claims: “You deserve to feel like you’re wearing pure gold dust with this textured matte glitter.”

Pros: DBP free. Toluene free. Camphor free. Formaldehyde free. Cruelty free and vegan. Wears well without a topcoat. You can make it shiny with a top coat if you don’t want to wear it matte. Matte finish with subtle sparkle.

Cons: You may need three coats of Butter Me Up for the same shade as seen in the bottle.

The Verdict: I really liked Butter Me Up! It was such a fun take on a gold manicure. I liked that it was matte but still had a subtle sparkle to it. I’m a fan of manicures using traditional gold glitter shades as an accent color and can’t wait to try that with this matte version. I used three coats for the photos in this post.

You can stay up to date with NCLA on TwitterFacebookTumblr,  YouTubeInstagram and Pinterest.
