Root Pretty Potion Hydrating Tonic Review
A while ago, I placed an order from Root and wanted to try out some of their skincare. The Root Pretty Potion Hydrating Tonic caught my eye. I am always on the hunt for a good toner that balances out my skin, doesn’t leave it feeling dry, and that can be used during the day as well. This tonic seemed like it would fit the bill based on the description, but I wanted to put it to the test.
Claims: “Our Pretty Potion Hydrating Tonic is a moisturizing mist that also tones your skin, minimizes your pores & works hard to fight signs of aging. It leaves your skin feeling fresh & rejuvenated.”
Ingredients: Organic Rosehip Seed Hydrosol, Organic Soybean Oil, Organic Aloe Vera Powder, Vitamin E Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Lemon Peel Essential Oil, Rosemary Leaf Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Leaf Essential Oil, Spearmint Essential Oil, Organic Denatured Alcohol, Organic Lemon Oil & water.
Directions for use: “Shake well before each use. After cleansing mist over entire face & neck morning & night, or as desired throughout the day!“
Pros: Refreshing scent. Soothes and calms skin. Doesn’t disrupt makeup if used during the day. Gluten-free. Paraben-free. Cruelty-free and vegan brand.
Cons: Only comes in a 2-ounce bottle.
The Verdict: I’ve been using the Root Pretty Potion Hydrating Tonic regularly for a few weeks now. I like to use it in the morning and night after washing my face, but also during the day to refresh my skin. Because the product can separate a little bit, I give it a good shake and then spray several times on my face from about a foot away. The mist is very fine and always leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The smell is a little herbal and a little citrus. Despite the lemon oil, it’s not at all drying. I also noticed that, when used during the day, it doesn’t interfere with the wear of my makeup at all. In fact, it seems to help it stay fresh.
I’m completely hooked on Pretty Potion and well definitely purchase it again!
