When I first found out that Pacifica was releasing a line of nail polish I could not have been more excited. Pacifica is a brand that I grew up with. They are also proudly free of any and all animal cruelty as all of their products are both cruelty free and vegan. I purchased several shades of the nail polish and am eager to share swatches and reviews of each shade here on Logical Harmony.

The first shade that I wanted to share is called Crystal Orchid. This is a more subtle version of Pantone’s Color of the Year – Radiant Orchid.

Pros: Cruelty free and vegan formula. Free of parabens, phthalates (dibutyl phthalate), toluene, xylene, camphor, formaldehyde, and resin. Pigmented color. Chip resistant. Shiny finish formula.

Cons: Those who want a bold color may need 3 coats of polish to achieve that look. Be sure to let each coat fully dry before applying the next as it can effect the finish.

The Verdict: I really love this shade! It’s so pretty! Pictured here are two coats of Crystal Orchid. I also felt that it held up well. I was able to go four to five days without chips, which is pretty impressive for me. The formula went on smoothly. I admit that I applied the second coat when the first was not quite 100% dry and as a result I ended up with a slightly uneven finish. Normally, I am able to smooth that out with a top coat but I was unable to with this polish. Overall, I am glad that I purchased Crystal Orchid and several other shades. I also plan on buying more shades in the future.
