Introducing FREEZE from Pressed Juicery
This weekend was the launch of the brand new soft serve from Pressed Juicery called FREEZE! Now this is definitely not your average soft serve. It’s raw, vegan, sugar-free, and made from the juices sold in the shop! This is truly amazing if you ask me!
I was invited by the Pressed Juicery team to come check out the location, learn about the process, and try a few flavors of FREEZE. Even though it is made from the juices themselves, FREEZEÂ is processed through an actual soft serve machine. They have one for each flavor so that all flavors are available at the same time. They also have several toppings available to add to your dish at an additional cost.
FREEZE comes in six different flavors. From left to right, the flavors pictured above are
- Greens (kale, spinach, romaine, cucumber, apple, lemon, dates, coconut meat)
- Roots (carrots, beets, fuji apple, lemon, ginger, dates, coconut meat)
- Fruit (fuji apple, strawberry, coconut meat, dates)
- Citrus (orange, apple, pineapple, coconut meat, dates)
- Chocolate almond (almond, dates, sea salt, cacao)
- Vanilla almond (almond, dates, sea salt, vanilla)
The available toppings were fresh strawberries, raspberries, granola, shredded coconut, sunflower seeds, dark chocolate chips, dark chocolate covered goji berries, and almond butter drizzle. They also had shakers with cinnamon and pink Himalayan sea salt available.
The ingredients in all flavors are simple. You can read the ingredient lists and know exactly what fruits, vegetables, and nuts you are consuming. There is no sugar, no dairy, no processed ingredients, no preservatives, and nothing artificial. Just real food. Above is an example of the ingredients in the FREEZE chocolate soft serve compared to the ingredient lists of chocolate soft serve in some popular chains.
The Pressed Juicery shop still has a full selection of their juices available. I had never been inside a location before and was so tempted to load up on fresh juices while I was there. I tried a few flavors and they were all delicious!
The staff behind FREEZE were all at the Palo Alto location for the event. It was great to meet the team behind the product and hear more about it. Thank you so much to the team at Pressed Juicery for the tour, hospitality, and delicious treats!
My first bowl was Roots FREEZE. This flavor is made from carrots, beets, fuji apple, lemon, ginger, dates, coconut meat. I got it topped with raspberries and coconut. It was seriously delicious! It had a lot of ginger flavor, which I personally love, but was still sweet due to the beets, apple, dates, and coconut.
My second bowl (when it is made from green juice, who can judge?!) was Greens FREEZE. This flavor is made from kale, spinach, romaine, cucumber, apple, lemon, dates, coconut meat. I had it topped with dark chocolate chips and sunflower seeds at the suggestion of an expert at Pressed Juicery. Many people commented on my Instagram picture of this asking how on earth it could be good. While it definitely was not sweet, it was actually really good. I liked it a lot.
Justin went the more traditional route and got a bowl of Chocolate Almond. This flavor is made from almond, dates, sea salt, cacao. He had it topped with dark chocolate chips, raspberries, and cinnamon. I had a bite and it was good as well. It was subtle, smooth, and not overly sweet. His second bowl, which we failed to get a picture of, was the Citrus flavor. Made from orange, apple, pineapple, coconut meat, dates, this flavor of FREEZE was the most soft serve like of any flavors that we tried. Again, it was sweet but not artificial tasting.
Currently, FREEZEÂ is only available in the Palo Alto, CA location but it will be coming to other Pressed Juicery locations in the future. Once it is in your area, you are going to be hooked on this delicious and healthy treat! I think it is so great that they offer such a health desert alternative. I will definitely be making more trips to Palo Alto in the future.
