ELF Sculpting Face Brush Review

ELF Sculpting Face Brush Review

As more and more brands are introducing contour kits, it makes sense that they would also release contour brushes as well. I was recently sent the ELF Sculpting Face Brush to try out. I have the ELF Contour Brush already and have really enjoyed it, so I was curious to see if the different shape of this brush made a difference in applying product.

Claims: “The contoured and curved shape of this brush hugs the face to help expertly sculpt and blend product, contour cheekbones, define the nose, and minimize the look of jawline definition for precision application. This brush is ideal with foundation but also works perfectly with a variety of formulas including powders, liquids, and creams.”

Pros:  Great for applying product for contouring the cheeks and jawline. The bristles are stiff, which deposits a lot of product. Works really well with powder contour products. Cruelty free brand. Vegan bristles.

Cons: Not the best for applying product on the sides of the nose or under the lip. Use with a light hand because of how much product this brush can pick up. It would be best to have another brush on hand for blending. Does not work very well with cream contour products.

ELF Sculpting Face Brush Review

The Verdict: The ELF Sculpting Face Brush is one of the best contouring brushes out there in this price range. I do like that it’s curved, and found that made applying product to my cheeks and jawline easier. The brush is a bit wide for contouring my nose and under my lip. I like that the dense bristles picked up and deposited a lot of powder product. Blending with this brush was very difficult though and I found myself needing to go in with another brush to blend. I had a hard time getting the brush to work well with cream contour products. It didn’t pick up much product. I can see this being a great brush to use if you are using a contour powder that’s very similar in shade to your skin tone.

If you are looking for an affordable contour brush, both the ELF Contour Brush and the ELF Sculpting Face Brush are great options.
