Cover FX Custom Cover Drops Review

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops Review

For a long time I had been hearing that the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops were essential to any makeup lovers collection. These highly pigmented drops come in 25 shades that can be worn alone or used to adjust the color and coverage of any product in your beauty stash. That could mean making your own serum foundation using your favorite skin serum, or adjusting a too light or too dark foundation shade to match your skin.

Claims: “Pigments that allow you to customize any product in your beauty regimen, adding coverage that you control. Custom Cover Drops can be mixed with anything liquid to add coverage – moisturizers, serums, oils, primers, foundations and tinted moisturizers that are water, oil or silicone-based. These revolutionary drops feature our Flash Fusion Technology™ formula, so as soon as you drop, the solution flashes off leaving behind the pigment that weightlessly transforms your favorite beauty product into the sheerest tint all the way to a total coverage foundation, depending on how many drops you add. The pigments are coated with Lecithin, which is biochemically similar to the skin, to ensure ease of blending and the smoothest application. With unprecedented control, you are free to customize coverage like never before.

The Verdict: The Cover FX Custom Cover Drops are pretty amazing. They are incredibly pigmented, but  aren’t heavy or thick and blend out so smoothly and evenly. I did have a hard time finding the right shade for myself because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with them. In the end, I picked a slightly lighter shade to help adjust foundations that are too dark when I am not self-tanning. I also wanted to try it as an under eye concealer.

I found that the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops were really easy to work with. You definitely want to start small with just one drop, and then adjust the coverage as you go. These drops are much more pigmented than I was expecting and a single drop was enough to adjust my foundation by two shades. I found that it didn’t impact the finish or the wear of my foundations either. Full coverage and matte finish foundations remained that way, and natural coverage and finish foundations also remained that way. Used alone as a concealer, or with eye cream to create a moisturizing concealer, the drops were incredibly effective in prodiving coverage that wasn’t heavy.

Next time, I will pick up theCover FX Custom Cover Drops in a shade that matches my skin so that I can create my own serum foundation and tinted moisturizer. I did try them out this way, despite the shade being too light, and was happy with the results. It looked so natural! I definitely plan to add more shades to my collection.
