Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit Review

Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit Review

In an effort to try more internationally available beauty brands, I placed a giant order from Barry M. Barry M is a cruelty-free brand with lots of vegan options that was highly suggested by readers and subscribers in the UK. I love a good contour, so I had to pick up the Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit.

Claims: “Barry M Chisel Cheeks provides the perfect tools to shape and define your natural bone structure. The travel-sized palette includes a light powder to highlight, a bronzer to warm, and a dark powder to sculpt for a perfectly enhanced appearance. Now available in new Medium to dark for deeper skin tones.”

Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isostearate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Petrolatum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin [+/- CI 77891, CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499]

Pros: Very smooth and blendable powders. Very pigmented. Nice packaging. Cruelty-free brand. Vegan formula.

Cons: Both contour shades are fairly warm-toned and may be too dark on pale skin.

The Verdict: The Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit is a tough one to review. There are some great things about it, and some things I was a little disappointed by. First off, the powders themselves are great. They are high quality, aren’t too powdery, apply very pigmented, and they are very blendable.

I love the highlight shade in this palette because it really brightens areas of my face without being overpowering or too bright. It also set my undereye area without getting cakey. The shades I was a bit disappointed in are the contour shades. Again, the formula is great, but they are both warm-toned and more like bronzers instead of contour shades. The two darker shades compliment each other so well and blend together beautifully. I got the light-medium palette and both shades are much too dark for me to contour with when I am pale. If I have self-tanned, they are gorgeous bronzers.

I feel that calling it a contour kit is a bit misleading. If Barry M marketed this as a bronzing kit, I think it would be an amazing product and well worth the price. But if you’re looking for a good contour powder, I would try other options.
